Alone At Last

Townsend log cabin

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Much needed getaway!” My husband and I had a wonderful time on our trip and this cabin was just amazing. Had everything we needed and everything to stay in touch with everyone, yet we were alone and just relaxed. We ventured out into town, the national park and road trips and picnics, but never missed our naps! The cabin was very affordable and wonderfully decorated and had everything we needed. We will definitely return!

“Fantastic mountain top home!” Wow! We loved this place! Perfect place if you want to visit Cade's cove and the smokey mountains. Right near Townsend, quiet, picture rescue. River rafting very close and entrance to the park loop like 15 min. Well equipped. Had a fantastic time. Would come again.

Getaway on Little River

Townsend log cabin

3 bedrooms / 4 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Riverfront Respite” What a wonderful jewel I found for my Spring Break Tennessee stay! My son was training in Knoxville for the week, so I found a piece of paradise only 45 min. away, to be on standby. My sister drove up from Atlanta and shared the time with me. The cabin was a mix of rustic and updated. One bedroom down, two upstairs, 3.5 bathrooms, washer/dryer...all the comforts of home. The privacy (one neighbor at end of road) and view of river were awesome. On our drives we noted other riverfront cabins that were not private at all! We had windows open at night to hear the river rolling by. The Canadian geese provided entertainment. We had smores by the outdoor fireplace, and cooked gourmet meals as well as trying local eateries. It had rained for several days before we met there, but we brought the sunshine with us. We had three full days to drive the wonderful scenic routes nearby...Cades Cove Loop, Foothills Pkwy, Little River rd, Newfound Gap rd, Wears Valley... so many! Makes me wonder how crowded but lovely the fall or late spring/summer are. We enjoyed the winter scenery as well. The rental company was responsive to all my queries. Can't wait to be back!

Bear's Den

Townsend log cabin

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 2

“Mountain Get Away” Bear's Den is just the right size for a couple. Located on a private road this cabin was perfect...only minutes from Townsend and Cades Cove! While the outside of this cabin seems a little plain it totally hides the beauty of the inside. It's like you've stepped into a fully furnished house, the bed was comfortable and it was very quiet. Would love to stay here again.

“Relaxing, private, extremely well appointed, loved it!” Very private setting with excellent access to everything you could ask for. As close as you can get to the national park without being in it. Very comfortable, well appointed home with excellent indoor/outdoor space. Cable, phone, internet all excellent. No cell phone but house phone was available for making and receiving long distance calls. Very clean. Had to call Smokey Cabins Management twice (late night at time of check-in and on the morning of check-out) and someone answered the phone both times. Thank you to both hosts and management for a very enjoyable stay. As a side note, our favorite restaurants were Trailhead Steak and Trout in Townsend and Foothills Milling Co. in Maryville. The Maryville Wafflehouse was also outstanding if you like Wafflehouse:-)

Lodge at Bradley Mountain

Townsend log cabin

5 bedrooms / 6 bathrooms / sleeps 23

“Well stocked lodge for a family or group retreat” We used the lodge for an extended family trip and it was a great place to stay. With four family units, we were able to each have a room with enough beds for us all with some to spare. The kitchen was wonderfully stocked with almost all the dishes and cookware a group would need. The driveway/road to the lodge is very steep, so use caution during colder months, but you get a good view.

Group (20-30) cabin-5 bedrooms with a spectacular mountain view - Bear Lodge

Townsend log cabin

5 bedrooms / 7 bathrooms / sleeps 34

“great group retreat venue” I lead a women's retreat here and most of the 20 women, upon entering the lodge, asked, "Where did you find this place?" While not luxurious, this lodge is spacious, very comfortable, and designed for groups, with two large meeting areas in addition to the dining area. Extra tables and chairs allow for a variety of set-ups and activities. A big plus is that the manager lives on site. We had a plumbing issue, and a maintenance person came to the lodge within 15 minutes and corrected the problem in thirty.

Still taking reservations! Clean, secluded, river ambience. Close to Cades Cove!

Townsend log cabin

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Cozy and romantic cabin away” The cabin was very cozy and cute - just far away enough from the city hustle and bustle but close to several activities and town stores. My husband and I visited for valentine's day and were very happy with the cute little decorations Billie had left around for us. There were a couple of hiccups during our stay around WiFi and cable but the host Billie was very responsive and helpful. We would come here again.

'BearyTale' .. cute as a bear cub! Amazing location, romantic. Cozy for up to 6

Townsend log cabin

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Perfect Forest Surrounded Relaxing Cabin” Absolutely love this cabin! The decor is just perfect but I'm a huge black bear fan Billie was great to talk with whenever needed. My favorite is the screened in porch has the swing those always take me back a "few" years! Just listening to the birds, crickets, stream, and other critters while relaxing was amazing! We did see a rabbit/bunny family in the little yard daily, we never did get to see the resident bear. For that we were very blessed this year to see them in Cades Cove twice and up by Chimney Tops we stopped in the road and seen a mama with her 3 cubs crossing the street. Elk are amazing and we've always been able to see them over on the Oconaluftee visitor center around 5:30. Thanks for allowing us to stay in your home and make it ours we plan on being back next year!

BearFoot 2 = Privacy + romance

Townsend log cabin

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Peaceful Hideaway” My husband and I stayed at "Bearfoot 2" for our 1st anniversary (or "Honeyversary", as we like to call it)! It was perfect! First off, the town that the cabin is in is so quaint and quiet. Just perfect! We roll up to our cabin (up a 45deg angle to get there- so thrilling!), and we are beaming! The overlook is wonderful, the porch is nice, cool and relaxing, and the hot tub, of course my favorite, was a huge perk! The inside of the cabin was perfect as well. Very cozy, perfect for 2 people. We loved the Jacuzzi in the bedroom (um...don't put too many bath bubbles in a Jacuzzi tub! They multiply much faster than in a normal tub! ha!) Very romantic! The renters even left some Dvds that you can watch on a nice flat screen TV in case you need a little down time at night. The kitchen is pretty well stocked with items you might need. There's a nice grill outside that was useful to us. Overall, it was a great stay! We have been talking about the wonderful cabin ever since we returned! We had such a great "Honeyversary"! We definitely recommend this affordable Romantic Get-Away!

“This cabin/stay was a perfect fit for us!!” My wife and I have been coming to Townsend for about 15 years. We have been renting cabins for the last few years. This cabin was wonderful for our needs and we will certainly be interested in renting this one again. The cabin is spacious and was very neat and clean. It was convenient also to Townsend and Pigeon Forge. We appreciate the fact that the cabin was all on one level without steps.

Majestic Hollow

Townsend log cabin

4 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 12

“Best location in the Smokies” Myself, husband, son, daughter and 16 year old granddaughters stayed at "Majestic Hollow" for a week.Contact and information with the rental company was excellent. The house itself was more than I expected after several rentals in the mountains. It was so very clean, always my main concern. The beds were comfortable and the linens clean and nice. The kitchen was equipped with most needs, even a slow-cooker.None of my items I brought were needed. The livingroom furniture was very comfortable. The Sky service for the TV worked well.Internet worked, slow, but we were in the mountains. To have Wi-Fi was very appreciated.Cell service with Verizon and AT&T was sketchy, but doable on the upstairs balcony.I was amazed we had any service. There were 2, landline(I think), telephones that worked in the house. The deck in the front was amazing for using the hot tub and looking at the stars and thousands of lightening bugs. The firepit with new benches was perfect. We were supplied with more than adequate cleaning supplies, paper towels, toilet paper, etc.until we went to the store. We actually only needed extra bath soap.I would like to thank Cathy and the owners for a great vacation.P.S.The pool table was also in very good condition. And when the dryer broke,it was fixed quickly.Again, thank you.

Retreats and Family Reunions love it in Elk Lodge-10 bedrooms!

Townsend log cabin

10 bedrooms / 12 bathrooms / sleeps 40

“Fantastic!” We had our family reunion at the Elk lodge. It was an ideal setting. The kitchen was incredible. Lots of counter top space. Two refrigerators, two dishwashers, two sinks a large stove and oven. Lots of silverware and loads of dishes. The dining room had plenty of tables and chairs and a bar with a small refrigerator. At the other end of the room there was a large wood burning fireplace in a large room with a couch that wrapped around 3/4th of the room and a TV (which got very little use). Upstairs was a large room with a pingpong table and a pool table and a couch and a TV. The kids loved playing up there. The porch was lined with swings and rocking chairs over looking the pool. The pool is large and only 3 1/2 feet deep. This was ideal as we had young children in our group. And the swimmers were still able to swim laps. Since we rented the entire lodge, the families with young children could put the kids in bed and then come join the adults. If the kids woke up, they could follow the laughter to fine their parents.

“Our second stay” We got to stay this year for a week. We have stayed in this cabin in 2016 and loved it. The view of the mountains is great. This year we had some hard rain and we woke up to the ceiling leaking in the bedroom and kitchen. On our last night to stay we were awoken by the fire alarm going off in two rooms at about 11:30 it was not just a churp it was a full blown alarm. We would have left that night but mu husband dont see well to drive at night. So we stayed until about 5:30 and left. It was so loud you could hear it outside.

Stay in the clean, fresh, open air of the Smokies! Awesome location at 'Refuge'!

Townsend log cabin

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“clean quiet peaceful” had a wonderful stay; our cozy cabin was spacious , clean, and with most everything needed for cooking meals in, or just enjoying the peace and quiet and letting the hectic world pass you by; there are several resturants near by to please just about every taste; shopping is plentyful in near by pigeon forge; there isn't a hot tub in this unit but it does have a two person jacuzzi ; the covered deck was my personal choice, great for enjoying a cup of morning coffee or relaxing with a good book. there is a gas log fireplace that we enjoyed on a couple of cool days . less than 1/2 mile from the entrance to the great smokey mountains national park, with plenty of nature trails and other nature type things to do.

“Wonderful home away from home!” Walked in the door and immediately felt at home. Cabin was clean, well-stocked, and very comfortable. All the rooms are very spacious. Cabin is still close enough to run into Townsend for groceries or a quick bite to eat, but far enough away that it's peaceful and quiet. The only problem we had was not having cell phone service until we got back onto the highway, but since we were trying to "get away from it all", that wasn't a big problem. It would have been nice to have a land-line phone in the cabin in case of emergency though. All in all, the best place we've stayed in all our trips to the area (12+), and we'll definitely be back!
