“Stay here and make your friends jealous!” My wife and I stayed at Margarita Tropical Villa 3 weeks ago, and we would go back tomorrow if we could.
We went to Margarita Island because we wanted to go somewhere no one we knew had been before. Having stayed at a caribbean all-inclusive the year before, we also wanted stay where we could be independent and plan our own vacation without feeling like we're staying at Disneyland. We couldn't have asked for more from Margarita Tropical Villa.
Our room was poolside with a comfortable kingsize bed, powerful air conditioning, and one of the better caribbean showers we have experienced. There is a large communal fridge in the kitchen area, but our room had a mini fridge large enough to store everything we needed for the week we were there.
The villa is a 5 minute walk to the beach or a $4 dollar cab ride. The Villa is at the south side of the beach where there is an excellent tourist market. We bought beach towels for $6, rented beach chairs for $3, and no beer cost more than $1.25.
Dan and Kira were very kind and helpful in making our stay as enjoyable as possible. From delicious breakfast every morning, to recommending restaurants in the evening, to introducing us to Karina, our taxi driver and friend for the week, it wouldn't have been the glorious vacation that it was without them.
It was the beginning of low season, as we stayed there just after Easter, and we felt as if we had the place to ourself, our own island home. Hopefully, one day, we'll go home again.
With exquisite surroundings and natural wonders that are easy to access, Venezuela is an excellent place to visit for an exciting yet relaxing getaway. There are a number of museums in Venezuela, historical, and architectural sites to take in, and plenty of dining, entertainment, and shopping opportunities. Venezuela also boats the Teleferico, the highest and longest cable car in the world, which provides amazing vantages of the landscape. Outdoor enthusiasts looking for adventure will have no problem finding great biking, climbing, rafting, and trekking in Venezuela. For those who are active during the evening hours, Venezuela nightlife offers plenty of options too!
Some of the sights you will definitely want to see include:
Angel Falls: Located at Canaima National Park in Guayana, this natural water wonder has a height of over 975 meters and is exquisite to behold firsthand.
Margarita Island: This island's natural surroundings include beautiful beaches and lush forests. Margarita Island is a great place to enjoy hiking, swimming, scuba diving, and trekking.
Cueva del Guacharo: Situated just outside of Caripe, this area is considered Venezuela's largest cave. People are allowed to enter Cueva and once inside will encounter a river as well as a variety of interesting insects and animals.
Museo Bolivariano: Located in Caracas, this is a historic site that showcases collections of items that are critical to Venezuela's history. Among the materials to view at this museum are artifacts that relate to the country's independence.
Gran Roque: The Archipelago Los Roques maintains a total population of just 1,000 people. While you are here, be sure to explore the village's brightly colored settlements and lighthouses.
The Church of San Francisco: For any travelers interested in seeing the country's holy sites, this church is one attraction you will not want to miss. The church is most famous for its beautiful Baroque altars.
Vacation rentals are a great way to make the most of your time in this incredible country, whether you are on a family vacation, a Venezuela honeymoon, or a trip with a large group of friends.

Fabulous holiday getaway
Met with big smiles and a big welcome.
House is amazing with great views, all amenities including jacuzzi/spa tub which at night with views of amazing hills and forest was brilliant and relaxing (romantic). Secure country club with 24hr security. Access to club with large pool, bowling alley and restaurant. Friendly neighbour's who couldn't do enough for you. Our host Nestor and his friend Angel couldn't do enough for us, and went a million miles to make our 9 day stay fabulous. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a true and relaxing insight to life in Caracas.
A big big thank you to Nestor and not forgetting Angel.
