Erne Retreat

Enniskillen house

4 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms / sleeps 8

“The Erne Retreat” We stayed with 3 young kids, the house was very well suited to them. There was a highchair, cot and stairgate all provided. With two downstairs living rooms it was great for a bit of peace and quiet, one for the kids and toys and one for the adults. The donkeys in the field next to the house were a great hit with the kids too. We had a great stay and hope to return again.

CK Serviced Apartments - Luxury 3 bed apartment in Titanic Quarter

Belfast apartment

3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 7

“Beautiful Place, Perfect Location, Wonderful Hosts” We couldn't have asked for anything better. Ciaran's home is beautiful and spotless, as well as comfortable. The location couldn't have been better for us. We walked to the Titanic Experience as well as the Pump & Dock Station. We had dinner at the nearby mall. And the convenience store downstairs had great coffee and pastries. Ciaran's mum met us there and went over the top helping us with a personal situation. We didn't want to leave! While on our walks we saw other interesting places we didn't have time to visit. I highly recommend this place to anyone staying in Belfast. I would love to return some day.

Hazelgrove Cottage, Loch Ness, Scottish Highlands

Foyers log cabin

3 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Excellent cottage, home from home with everything you could wish for and more.” Hazelgrove cottage was ideal for our pre christmas break away. The setting was beautiful overlooking Loch Ness, so nice to wake up to on a morning. Hazelgrove is in a very peaceful location but with excellent ammenitites and not far from Iverness and many other places of interest. It was great to find a cottage that accomodated both of our dogs with the bonus of a large secure garden and great walks nearby. Hazelgrove really was a home from home with personal touches provided such as a welcome pack on our arrival containing some essential goodies to start our holiday off well, I would definately recommend Hazelgrove to friends and family.

Atholl Brae, Royal Mile Apartments - 4 * Luxury

Edinburgh apartment

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 5

“Great Apartment in Great Location” We stayed in this apt as a party of 5 girls for a couple of nights in November 09. The location was great - close to the train station and pretty much everywhere of interest (Edinburgh doesn't seem that big once you've done a few laps). Gorgeous apartment with really great showers (once you remember to turn the hot water on); only one towel provided per person which isn't unreasonable but girls you might want to bring another for your hair! The second bedroom was a bit small to squash 3 beds in so we used the sofa bed after the first night so we had a bit more space. We were very impressed with the friendly and personal service - we were met on arrival at the apartment and a bottle of cava was waiting for us in the fridge! We didn't use the kitchen (apart from the kettle) as we ate out but it looked like it contained everything you could need. Thank you Liz and Sean and hope to be back one day soon!

Drumbeg, Plockton

Plockton house

4 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms / sleeps 9

“Drumbeg offers beautiful views, comfort and a great housekeeper.” We found Drumbeg on the Plockton website and although the owner lives elsewhere in the world, it was easy to make contact with him via email and the booking was made without any problem. It offered everything we were looking for: at least three bedrooms, two bathrooms, the owners were happy to have pets staying at the property and, best of all, Drumbeg was on Harbour Street right in the middle of Plockton. The Housekeeper, Jan, was easily contactable both prior to and during our stay. She called round on our first full day to ensure we had everything we needed and she also rang the day we were leaving to ask if we'd enjoyed our stay and had found everything we needed in the property. If you're looking for contemporary accommodation decorated to a very high specification, Drumbeg is not for you, but if you like real fires, sofas you can sink into, a well-stocked (if unmatched) kitchen and well-appointed bedrooms then you'll thoroughly enjoy Drumbeg. Location-wise, we absolutely love Plockton, it certainly is the jewel of the Highlands. It offers a great base from which to explore both the islands and mainland, although there is plenty to do in the village itself, from hiking and walking to cayaking and other watersports and everything in between. There are certainly lots of eateries to choose from. We particularly like Plockton Shores restaurant but you do need to book for dinner if you want to go. We enjoyed Drumbeg so much that we came home and re-booked for next year - we didn't want to miss out on this lovely accommodation!

Tranquil escape beautiful scenery lakeshore mayo

Pontoon house

5 bedrooms / 4 bathrooms / sleeps 9

“A Glorious Holiday” From the initial booking, throughout the holiday and until our eventual departure the service we received was exeplorary The house was superbly comfortable and large enough for eleven of us (10 adults plus one teenager) to holiday incomfort. The location was well known to me as I am a fisherman and have fished loughs Cullen and Conn for over 30 yeas staying in a variety of local hotels, rented houses and mobile homes. This was by far the best experience ever. Every minute was enjoyable, whether spent inthe house and its garden, walking down to the lakeshore, or driving around the beutiful lakes and mountains in the area. A drive into Castlebar, Westport, Nephin Beag, Connemara, Lenane - a visit to Clare Island, Achille Island (and its beutiful cliffs and beaches - the options are endless. My wife and I were very aware of the area and love it, but this was an opportunity for us to spend a week with our adult children (and one teenage grandchild). Our children have travelled the world and potentially may not have appreciated the area quite as much as Therese and I, after all I have banged on about it for most of their live and maybe they were purely placating us by joining us for a week? - Wrong! Each and every one of them has been completely converted and want to go back next year as they love the house and the area and quite rightly state that they have only scratched the surface and want to experience more. We will be in contact again soon with Paddy and Emer to arrange next years holiday.

Gruinyards - the best views of Loch Ness

Fort Augustus apartment

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Fantastic accomodation in a beautiful location” The owners were extremely helpful in organising our weekend break. Gruinyards far exceeded our expectations, everything from the bottle of wine down to the candles in the bathroom were a lovely touch. The location was amazing and the website does not do justice to the view over the loch.

Skyehaven

Portree house

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 4

“A delightful haven on the beautiful Isle of Skye” This was our fifth family summer holiday to Skye and having had a disappointing cottage last year, we were keen to find a property that was as good as the one we had rented in previous years. The three of us were not disappointed by what we saw when opening the front door. The cottage was everything we could have wanted. It was clean, superbly furnished and had all the things necessary to make a holiday enjoyable. The views from the lounge were amazing. It was lovely to watch the changing scenery and wildlife from the comfort of a warm cottage. Both bedrooms were very comfortable and we liked having the two bathrooms between us. In previous years we have stayed in Broadford, so it was good to have a more central place from which to explore the island. We even managed to visit some new area's this time. The booking process was really efficient and queries were dealt with almost by return. The owners also rang us to check that everything was to our satisfaction, which was a nice touch. Comments in the visitors book were all very complimentary. Overall, a fantastic cottage, lovely hospitality and a great holiday. We will be booking shortly for next year.

Loch Ness Hideaways:- Rowan Cottage

Loch Ness Region log cabin

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“A relaxed escape to the country” If you have never been to Loch Ness and the surrounding areas, Alex & Janet's little hideaway is absolutely perfect as a base. No detail was overlooked: directions, Welcome pack of biscuits & chocolates which our kids loved, Separated packs of information with walks and local interests, even dog treats they understand hospitality to the letter. A home from home you only need to bring some food or pop to Tesco/Asda which was a reasonable 20miles ish at Inverness. The location was perfect we were within reach of Inverness, Fort agustus and the Fall of Foyers, which was our primary visit, and on a clear night which we were lucky to have one the night sky is something to see. If you are a family looking for walks we found that the forestry commission walks were best as they were marked out by difficulty and colour coded posts throughout the chosen walk (avoids embarrassing moments of getting lost). For us it was a break to escape the typical 'busy' life and a chance to reconnect with each other as a family with some board games (take some) and country air.

Helvellyn Holiday Cottage near Ullswater

Glenridding cottage

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Great location and accomodation” The cottage is perfectly placed for those wanting the 'lakes' walking experience with a weeks walking on your dorrstep without needing the car. The cottage is well equipped, clean and cosy during the winter months. The owners are friendly and provide little touches such as leaving eggs, milk and wine for the new guests each week. We have used this cottage on a number of occasions and have booked for Christmas 2011! My only negative point (and its being picky) is that the mattrass in the main bedroom is a little 'tired' (no pun intended) and could do with replacing. It tends to roll you out of bed on each side.

Lochleven Seafood Cottage

Onich house

4 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 10

“A holiday to remember!” We came to stay in Lochleven Seafood Cottage in april. There were ten of us staying, and we all instantly fell in love with the cottage as soon as we stepped inside. It was really clean and tidy, and well kept. The views of the loch were outstanding from the living room, and the bedrooms were very comfortable. The cottage was very well equipped, so there's no need to bring anything extra. The location of the cottage is also ideal, about twenty minute's drive from Glencoe and Fort William. We were able to travel to somewhere different everyday, but also enjoy some lovely walks and mountain treks just outside the cottage. The service for the cottage was also incredible - I texted the supervisors about a blocked drain and they instantly sent someone within the same morning. All in all a great holiday!
