Description

La Baronnie Gîtes is a traditional French rustic gîte converted from animal stables and sleeps two to five people in two bedrooms and a self-contained apartment. The apartment and heated pool have stunning south-facing views across the Dordogne valley. Ideally situated close to Sarlat with easy access to the many local chateaux and picturesque medieval towns including Beynac, Castelnaud and Domme.

Cycling and canoeing on the Dordogne and Vézère valleys. Several excellent restaurants and local boulangerie nearby. A welcome pack of essentials and bottle of regional wine await your arrival.

Studio style accommodation. Lounge/bedroom1 with king-size bed and two sofas (a three-seat and a two-seat), TV with UK free-to-air satellite channels and a Blu-ray/DVD player. Wireless Internet access. Bedroom 2 has a bunk bed. Bathroom with shower, wash basin and wc. Kitchen/diner is equipped with hob, oven, fridge, microwave, kettle, Nespresso coffee machine and toaster. Bed linen and towels, including towels for poolside use, are included. Bed linen and towels are changed weekly; a charge will be made for change of bed linen/towels within a week. A small safe is installed in bedroom 1.

The apartment benefits from central heating for year round use.

Our apartment is ideal for young families with bunk beds and we also have a cot and high chair available for your use.

The Apartment has a private patio with table and chairs and charcoal barbecue. Our 10m x 3m heated pool is available for the exclusive use of our guests. The pool area is not overlooked and provides spectacular views of the Dordogne valley. New for 2019 is a large tonnelle for the pool giving plenty shade for all.

Apartment: The apartment is on the ground floor and a separate driveway is available for step-free access if required. Please note that other areas including the pool are on different levels with access via steps.

“Charmant appartement”

Nous avons séjourné quelques jours fin octobre dans ce spacieux appartement décoré et rénové avec beaucoup de goût et très propre. Accueil très chaleureux et prévenant de Shona et Steve. Emplacement idéal pour les visites de la région. Supermarché à 3 min, boucherie et produit du Périgord à 2 min.

Response from the owner So glad that you had a good holiday and the sun shone for you! The garden and grounds are full of sun traps but also shaded areas when the sun is too hot! The pool is ideal for cooling off in and of course heated to at least 28c when not so sunny.

Firstly, Steve and Shona are fantastic hosts and we both will be looking forward to going back for our next holiday to France. Getting to La Baronnie was easy from Bergerac Airport. The apartment is spacious and has a brand new kitchen, fitted out with everything we could need. The local supermarket is just 5 minutes down the road in the car. The view from the apartment is gorgeous, and we loved sitting outside by the pool admiring the view. The pool was very clean! There were loads of things to do in the area, and in our apartment was a folder of leaflets and flyers for nearby attractions - which was very helpful to us as this was our first trip to this area. Our favourite town to visit was Sarlat, which is not too far to drive and is a beautiful little town with some lovely shops and restaurants. Overall, we found that the apartment was good value for money, and we have stopped searching for holiday locations in this area of France now. Will definitely go back, and would definitely recommend.
