“Adventure with romance in Italy” The detailed description of this fabulous apartment within the walled city of Lucca is (as they say in Britain) 'spot on.' There were no surprises. The attention to detail throughout the apartment makes you feel at home immediately. We loved the antiques and original artwork that you will find in every room. We felt that we were staying in an authentic Italian home. The kitchen is fully equipped and the cabinets bright yellow color makes it feel sunny and warm inside even on a rainy day. Just as described, when you walk out the door onto the sidewalk, immediately to your left is a wonderful cafe. Lucca is an exceptionally beautiful city with great shopping and delectable food - for purchase to be cooked at home or to be eaten in one of its' many restaurants. Of course, the wine is superb - again, for celebrating at home, in this gorgeous apartment, or out on the town. The night life in Lucca is exciting and filled with possibilities. The fact that you know that your apartment is within easy walking distance to whatever you choose to do allows for evenings out without the worry of transportation. You can save money on your Italian adventure by not having to rent a car at all. Everything that you need is right in Lucca. If you do want to go somewhere else you can access the 'user friendly' public transportation. We are very active people and we loved walking/running every day around the 3 mile path for walkers, runners and cyclists that is located right along the wall that surrounds the city. There are many entrances up to the wall for easy use by visitors and locals alike. We searched many other options for our stay in Lucca. The value of this very romantic apartment was not met anywhere else that we looked. We absolutely loved our stay. Staying in this apartment had everything thing to do with the overall enjoyment of our vacation. We would stay in this apartment again in a heartbeat. We will highly recommend it to all of our friends and family.

“Beautiful House with awesome View” My friends and I stayed here in late april/early May. The weather was perfect and we easily took the train to Florence, Lucca, Pisa and Rome from here. The house itself is beautiful and fully stocked. No need to pack extras, there were umbrellas, travel books, and even a ceramic flat iron to calm my frizzy hair. The balcony is a great spot to relax and enjoy the view after a long day of sight seeing. There is a quaint Italian restaurant a short walk away with great food. You can eat there or take it back to the house. Just a short taxi or bus ride takes you to the train station where you can travel to any other Italian cities.

“A jewel in the heart of Tuscany.” Booking very easy helped by the owner. Apartment exceptionally comfortable with all the facilities we required. There was no problem moving in thanks to being met by Fabio when we arrived. A beautiful location with amazing views of Tuscany. “Perfect base to see all that Tuscany has to offer” La Casetta del Borgo was the perfect location for my recent trip to Tuscany with my wife. The unit is located in a resort with plenty of amenities including two pools and a very nice tennis court with faux grass that can be used for a small fee. It is a 10 minute drive to Montaione where one can go for dinner or buy groceries to cook in the unit's kitchen. All the necessary utensils are available to do some home cooking and I enjoyed a number of home cooked dinners and a delicious breakfast every morning thanks to my lovely wife. The main resort building has a restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, however I didn't try it out so I can't say anything about it. Paolo, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with. I was having trouble finding the location with my GPS so Paolo had me meet him at his home which is just off the highway from Florence and very easy to find. To ensure that I found it with no problem Paolo drove to the resort while I followed . Once at the resort he had the keys, a nice bottle of wine, and plenty of info about the local area ready for me. Since he knew that I had the flu he even had some flu medication for me in case I needed it! The weather was unseasonably cold when we arrived and the bedding wasn't sufficient, but Paolo came to the rescue and drove over in the rain with more blankets for us. You'll be hard pressed to find a better host at this type of vacation rental. The location was perfect for us as it was very quiet, yet was within easy driving distance of many towns and cities in Tuscany. Smaller towns like Montaione and San Gimignon were within a 10-20 minute drive and Florence, Pisa, Lucca and Sienna were all within an hours scenic drive. If driving into Florence remember that free parking can be found at the Piazzale Michelangelo which is located outside of the ZTL and is a short walk to the Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi and other old city sites. The views are also magnificent! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property!

“Perfection in Tuscany” We spent a perfect week at this property, which combines the charm of a classic Tuscan villa with all the amenities of a luxurious modern home. The spacious, beautifully furnished villa and the adjoining guest house accommodated three families – a total of 15 people – in utmost comfort, with ample room for everyone to be occupied in their own preferred activities. We all enjoyed the villa’s private tennis courts and large swimming pool – dazzling under the Tuscan sun by day and beautifully lit at night – and the secluded grounds offered plenty of opportunities to wander off and find a favorite spot to just relax and take in the breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside and neighboring mountaintop villages (a visit to Palaia being highly recommended) as well as the spectacular sunsets. We would then all regroup for meals together, which were a pleasure to prepare in the huge, exceptionally equipped kitchen and most often consumed around the massive table in the garden. Our only complaint about the truly memorable week we spent at this extraordinary property was that it passed far too quickly.

“Rooms with a view!” One of the most peaceful and beautiful locations we have stayed in. Wonderful memories of sitting on the terrace outside the well-appointed house high in the Tuscan hills, with a distant view of the leaning Tower of Pisa, wooded hills all around, birds singing, a glass of local wine from the Colle Verde vineyard (north of Lucca)in my hand - absolute perfection! We loved this part of Italy and will be sure to visit again. Lucca is a must-see place, which we preferred to the busyness of Florence. Luisa and Colin were very friendly and helpful hosts, even offering to do an initial shop for us prior to our arrival. The drive up from the road requires a bit of skill and good tyres, but our two drivers were experts by the end of the week!
