Description

Original Grade 2 Listed Cottage in Charlestown. Parking, Private Relaxing Garden, Comfortably Accommodates 4 - Free WIFI

We aim to make you feel comfortable and completely at home in our 1860's cottage, which has been renovated throughout to give you a traditional feel of cosiness and quality. The original slate front is one of only two which still exist in the village. Two separate good size living rooms and a generous size kitchen offer plenty of family living space whatever the weather whilst the sheltered sunny and private garden is a major feature of the cottage- perfect for eating outside, relaxing with a book or sitting out in the evening. The period cast iron fireplace with gas fired coals gives a warm welcome if you are a little chilly whilst central heating warms the whole house. The location is just above the Harbour but hidden from the crowds at peak times, . A hidden gem offering privacy, yet direct access to the village, harbour and beaches. Parking for yourselves and your guests is right outside. Chill out at lunchtime or spend an hour reading in the garden whilst the rest of your party are on the beach, fishing off the harbour or walking the coast path. A two minute walk will allow you to join the rest of the party for lunch with them in the pub. The stable door at the back opens onto the quiet, private, sunny, slate paved, garden at the back of the cottage. Our cottage has been totally renovated but retains a cottage feel. It has 2 comfortable sized bedrooms, the main one is a double with lovely sea views to greet you when you wake. The other is a generous twin. The cottage perfectly accommodates four and is the ideal place to explore the area on foot, by bus or car. Feel free to phone for an informal chat before booking as we want you to feel happy about staying in the cottage. If you stay here we can offer you free unlimited parking 100yds from St. Austell railway station for train days out. Alternatively, if you would like a car free holiday we can offer you complimentary transfers to and from the railway station at the beginning and end of your holiday. We can also arrange transfers to and from Newquay Airport at nominal cost.

“Cosy Cottage”

Reviewed 7 Oct 2020

Had a great week, nice welcome from Carol. Very cosy with the fire on sheltering from storm Alex. Great location but would advise pre booking resturants at peak times during the current conditions.Sams On The Beach just down the road worth a visit as was The Rebbelion which is on the doorstep. Thanks to our hosts for the scones enjoyed them with a brew by the fire.

“Carole’s cottage”

Reviewed 19 Aug 2018

Carole who met us was lovely and it’s her cottage. The accommodation could do with a little updating but actually sat very well in the conservation area of Charlestown. Only one gripe which is a sad condition of modem life was there was no WiFi. To download movies or upload holiday photos

Response from the owner Thank you for your review. We have thought quite hard about whether or not to have WiFi but after consulting guests who have holidayed with us on several occasions we decided against it as the majority of the guests said that they liked to completely escape all the technology which can sometimes take over ones life. I hope it didn't spoil your holiday too much. WiFi is of course available free in the majority of pubs / restaurants in the village.
