“Felt like a home from home.”

Reviewed 21 Aug 2018

We enjoyed a lovely stay here while visiting nearby French relatives. The 3 bedroom gite we stayed in was very spacious with masses of storage space. It was very comfortable, and decorated and equipped to a high standard. It was spotlessly clean in a quiet but easily accessible location. Very friendly and helpful hosts and their young daughters kept our young children good company. Really good that the host family spoke English and French as I could practise my French and my husband could have a good chinwag in English too! :-) The courtyard garden is beautifully laid out across different levels which gives it a lot of interest but also creates a natural divide between the owners' property and the gite. It also provided a nice, shaded private seating and dining area within this area. The pool area was laid out in another very attractive Charentaise courtyard, and the water was a fabulous temperature too! A big grassy area for children to play out on with swings, and a wide assortment of outdoor games available as well as a shady gazebo. Was initially slightly nervous of the lane running next to the property with regard to our 2 year old, but it was extremely quiet, more like a shared driveway than a through road. We very much appreciated the delicious Welcome Pack and Information File full of places to see and go, as well as the electric fan. All the other guests we found friendly and helpful, and quite a few were repeat visitors which is always a good sign. Nice, pretty little hamlet giving out onto vineyards and countryside, with shops and services within about 10-15 mins drive. Some nearby gardens only 10 minutes away that you could visit, but didn't get round to, maybe another time! Thanks to Ian, Val, Ella, Lea and Val's Mum for a most enjoyable stay.
