Tofino Surf Shack Cabin with Private Hot Tub - Steps to Chesterman Beach
A Slice of Heaven

As city slickers from Vancouver and savvy travellers who love the great outdoors, we take every opportunity to spend time in Tofino. We have stayed at many vacation properties along chesterman beach and resorts like Long Beach Lodge, Wickaninnish Inn and Pacific Sands. This time we wanted to have something more intimate and absolute privacy. After some searching we stumbled upon the Surf Shack Cabin. To us, the name sounded like beach, ocean and yes Surfing, although we are not surfers this cabin is just what we were looking for. Privacy is a big deal for us (a lot of vacation rentals we stayed at chesterman beach said they offer privacy but in reality were not) this time we needed to make absolutely sure our vacation rental offers what it promises. Barbara the owner whom I spoke to, was very nice to talk too, professional, and answered all of my many questions. Booking was an easy no hassle process and we were send very detailed proficient instructions.  We arrived at the "Shack" and instantly fell in love. Handcrafted chocolates were waiting for us on arrival, beautiful bath products, soft warm sheets to snuggle up under a skylight which everyone should experience. The cabin had everything as described and much more. We absolutely loved the chic beach decor and coziness, Daniel the owner is a very skilled craftsmen, many of the furnishings were made by Daniel in solid wood. A magnificent and enormous long solid slab of cedar dominated as the kitchen counter. Barbara has an exceptional flair for decor, every room is different, yet harmonious and well combined. The privacy and convenient location to chesterman beach are unsurpassed. The cabin itself is nestled among spectacular rhododendrons, thoughtfully planted shrubs and lots of beautiful coastal vegetation with salal evergreens providing us total privacy. Our own hot tub and outdoor shower with a patio and BBQ is set in the mids of this beauty, all ours to enjoy.  I am very picky about cleanliness, the Surf Shack was spotless and the grounds very well maintained. The owners obviously require a high standard and attention to detail was paid to every part of this cabin.  We consider ourselves very lucky to have found such a gem, the Surf Shack was by far the best place we have stayed in, were actually reluctant to share this as more visitors will want to stay at "Our Surf Shack". We have to pat ourselves on the back for finding such a fantastic retreat! Everything about Cedar Shack cabin, location, privacy was absolutely perfect AND with all the comforts of home. The cabin is extremely well appointed, the owners have thought of all the little details and touches, very welcoming indeed. The beach is very close and can be accessed by a treed path in a couple minutes. We are almost hesitant to share our discovery of the Cedar Shack in case it is not available for our next vacation. We love this place! it was perfect for our getaway. We’ve all decided that we could live here and our husbands and kids could come visit once a month. We have stayed in many nice places in Tofino, but the Cedar Shack was by far the best. Thank you so much. We will be back for sure! … see more
