Clifden's premier rental - A smart country house in town, originally built in circa 1820, sympathetically renovated and designed to give a luxurious holiday experience for gatherings of family and friends, family reunions, celebrations and events.

With mature gardens, private parking, outdoor heated pool (Easter to September) + sauna, pool terrace, rain shower and outdoor kitchen with Weber BBQ, providing a self contained private holiday, while only 2 mins walk to the town square.

All 11 bedrooms are uniquely decorated and are all en suite. The extensive ground floor living rooms allow enough space for everyone to relax without being on top of each other, whether it is in the main drawing room with large turf fire, the library, the television room with large turf fire, the dining room or kitchen.

An ideal base for exploring Connemara & Mayo with walks, hikes, water sports, equine sports on the stunning local beaches or in the most scenic countryside you are likely to encounter, or wandering to the local pub for a quiet pint or traditional Irish music.

Getting around

The easiest way to get around is by rentals car, however Clifden is also well serviced by Bus link to Galway and Westport, and onward to Dublin City and Airport. See https://www.citylink.ie/timetables/galway-clifden We have a new Ev point on site for electric cars Shannon and Knock Airports are each approx 2 hours drive from Clifden and Dublin Airport is 4 hours drive.

Shane and family live in Clifden and own at Guys_Bar_Clifden on the Main Street in Clifden, one of the busiest food spots in town, specialising in local Connemara seafood. Shane and his team are available to welcome you and help/ guide you, if required, throughout your stay in Sunnybank House.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your booking page. To change your dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Shane (the owner) a message.

If Shane (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
