Rosswood House is modern holiday rental located on an elevated site in a peaceful setting overlooking Donegal Bay. Rosswood House is fully equipped for a very comfortable and enjoyable holiday or attending a wedding at any off our nearby hotels, Solis castle & Harveys point only 10 mins drive away,Abbey, Central, Millpark Hotels just 5 mins Sheltered by mature woodland on one side the house enjoys views over several small islands towards the sand dunes of Murvagh Golf Club. The holiday home is close to a number of major amenities - including historic Donegal Town (3km), the internationally renowned Donegal Golf Club at Murvagh (6km) and the popular surfing and beach resort at Rossnowlagh (13km)
This newly built holiday home is set in its own private lawns. The open-plan ground floor incorporates a beautifully crafted Solid Oak kitchen and dining area and also a cosy living area with access to the patio. The patio overlooks a gentle stream and enjoys lovely sea views . The holiday home can accommodate 6 people in 3 bright, spacious and comfortable bedrooms. A large utility room has plenty of storage space for golf clubs, fishing rods, hiking gear, surf boards etc.
Rosswood House is a great base to explore South West Donegal. Visitors can enjoy country walks along the side of the bay at Rossmore, discover the nearby towns of Ballyshannon, Bundoran and Mountcharles. Also popular with walkers are the Slieve League cliffs, the highest cliffs in Europe. Enjoy the golden beaches of Murvagh and Rossnowlagh. Within a half hours drive you also have the wonderful 'Yeats Country' in Sligo and the majestic Fermanagh Lakelands.
Closest airports Derry 1 hour , Ireland West Knock Airport 1 hour 20 mins... Low cost Airline Ryanair fly to both these Airports from many UK destinations . Fly Be & Bmibaby airlines fly to knock.. Dublin Airport is just under a 3 hours drive away.
South Donegal
For the golfer the holiday home is centrally situated for playing the great links courses of south Donegal including the Donegal Golf Club at nearby Murvagh and at Bundoran. Those who simply want to enjoy the natural beauty of this part of Ireland will be spoilt for choice - from the windswept St. John's peninsula to the spectacular sea cliffs at Slieve League and from the majestic Blue Stack Mountains to the beautiful beaches at Murvagh, Rossnowlagh and Bundoran.
Lovers of good food will not be disappointed either - there are a number of excellent restaurants throughout the locality including the award winning Coxtown Manor which is a mere 10 min drive away. Within a half hours drive you also have the wonderful 'Yeats Country' in Sligo and the majestic Fermanagh Lakelands.
Local Attractions and Amenities
Donegal Town is of great historical interest and has numerous tourist attractions. Donegal Castle stands beside The Diamond, overlooking the River Eske. Guided historical tours of Donegal Town take place on a daily basis during the summer and the Waterbus takes you around Donegal Bay. The ruins of Donegal Abbey, situated on the bay, are open to the public.
Golf - superb 18 hole links championship courses are located at nearby Murvagh (6km) and at Bundoran (24km)
Surfing - Nearby Rossnowlagh has some of the best surfing in the world and the European Championships have been held here a number of times
Walking - Many well-signed walks can be enjoyed in the nearby Blue Stack Mountains .
Crafts- visit the Craft Village in Donegal Town
Horse-Riding - There are several horse-riding and trekking establishments in the area where you can enjoy an afternoon on horseback, riding through some of Ireland's most beautiful scenery.
Cycling - South Donegal abounds with small, winding roads which offer spectacular views around every corner and are ideal for cycling.
Angling - coarse and sea angling with sea angling boats available for local chartering.
Waterworld in Bundoran - one of Ireland's leading Indoor Aqua Adventure Playground is located on the seafront in Bundoran
Glenveagh National Park approx 1 Hour away
Giants Causeway often described as the 8th wonder of the world. Unesco heritage site less than 2 hours away

“Wedding weekend”
A lovely house in a beautiful location. The facilities in the kitchen and sitting room area were good. Unfortunately the heating control is behind a locked door. The heating went off at 930am ! and we had to contact the owner to have the time extended as we were there all morning getting ready to go to the wedding. For the winter season I would expect more generous heating times. There was only one shower between 7 people and one hand towel among the bath towels. I would suggest that the shower in the ensuite needs to be in working order It is s beautiful spacious house with lovely views but more showering facilities and towels are needed. I think it would have been nice if Gareth had popped in to say hello.
