“Fabulous Cottage for two in Cornwall”

Reviewed 22 Jul 2013

We booked Little Trembroath through Trip Advisor, and were absolutely thrilled with the choice. We are based in Adelaide, South Australia and were travelling to Cornwall so were very pleased with the choice made from such a distance away. From the peaceful and serene surroundings to the well- equipped cottage it was everything we could have wished for. Lisa and her family were extremely welcoming, and were able to provide us with all the information we needed. The cottage was light and airy, with windows overlooking the beautiful garden or out to the attractive fields. You will need to buy your supplies from Truro or other larger town, as Stithians, the closest town, only has a local general store. We ate at the pub a couple of times and the meals were very tasty. We would highly recommend Little Trembroath to a couple looking for a peaceful place to stay.

“Lovely little cottage in truly peaceful surroundings”

Reviewed 3 Oct 2012

A wonderful little cottage for two surrounded by peaceful countryside. We were very surprised at how reasonably priced this cottage was for the peak season. It is further from the sea than many would like, but we found that to our advantage as it offered an idyllic and quiet getaway from city life. The cottage is a very good size, with open plan living/kitchen area, and a large double bedroom with views over the fields. A TV, DVD and free wi-fi were available, which were much appreciated when Cornwall's weather wasn't at it's finest! The accommodation is in the grounds of the owner's house, so any problems can be quickly resolved. We were also befriended by one of the owner's cats, which was quite charming! We would definitely stay at Little Trembroath again, and recommend it to our friends.

“Lovely little hideaway cottage”

Reviewed 2 Oct 2012

Spent an excellent week here. A beautiful cottage with lots of original features and modern style and comfort. Spotlessly clean with everything you need. The owners where extremely welcoming and helpful. Walks and woodlands surrounding the cottage are stunning. Local pub and shop are a few minutes walk away. Centrally located and perfect to retreat into a real home from home, after exciting outings to St. Ives, Falmouth, Land's End, Penzancewe. We where not looking forward to leaving. Would highly recommend and would love to come back. Thanks for a great stay!

“Perfect Little Bolt-Hole for Two.”

Reviewed 1 Oct 2012

I needed a week away, some tranquillity from the hustle and bustle of working life. After very little searching I came across ‘Little Trembroath’. I read through the description and called Lisa the first chance I got. Lisa was both extremely helpful and polite, answering all of my questions quickly and thoroughly… so I just had to book there and then! We had contact throughout the very quick transaction of paying for the holiday and Lisa provided me with everything I needed to get me there. She even gave me a courtesy call the day before to check everything was ok and to let me know that her husband would be there to greet us. We arrived at the cottage with ease the next day, the directions were great. On arrival we met Lisa’s husband who happily showed us around and made sure we had everything we needed. Later on Lisa came over to introduce herself and to double check everything was to our liking… which I am very happy to say it was. I don’t require much when I get away, I’m not one for ‘bells and whistles’… a good bed for the night, in a clean place with basic amenities and cooking facilities is all I really need. After all you spend most days out and about, right? I am pleased to say Little Trembroath was so much more than this. It is a great little annex with tranquil views. All of your cooking requirements are catered for, so you can cook as little or as much as you need. The bathroom had a lovely walk-in power shower, making it perfect for those who find bathing more difficult. They also supplied a TV and DVD player with a choice of DVDs and books on the shelves, so there was plenty to keep us entertained if we chose a quiet night in… and they had excellent phone reception and WIFI service too, which I thought was a real bonus in an out of town location. There was on-site parking in the court yard, which overlooks part of the main cottage’s beautiful garden. The cottage itself is in a hamlet just outside of Stithians, so you need to cross some fields to walk to the ‘local pub’, but on a nice evening it’s a great little walk. The hamlet is both peaceful and friendly, so evening walks are a true pleasure. The location is also perfectly central to most of the mid and south Cornish tourist destinations, so you have the choice of being as active or as inactive as you want. Lisa and her husband were always on hand if we needed anything, not that we did as they catered so well… but they were there if I needed them, which was a reassurance. When it came to sign out, Lisa was right on hand with my deposit for a quick getaway to beat the traffic home and she was eager to ask what we thought, fully open to comments. I have to say we didn’t find any fault with our stay, it was just what we needed, a perfect little bolt-hole for two! I thoroughly recommend giving Little Trembroath a try.
