How long is it since you saw a fish leap in beautiful, sun-dappled, aquamarine water?
From my delightful one-bedroom apartment, you can look out over a lovely pool area to the beautifully clear aquamarine water of Bell Channel. Watch the sparkling white pleasure craft sail by throughout the day. Admire the reflections during the calm early morning and evening times and watch for those fish breaking the surface. If you feel so-inclined you could even try to catch a few!
The apartment is located in the sought after Lucaya area of Freeport, just minutes walk from beautiful white sand beaches and the ever-popular Port Lucaya Marketplace with its lively atmosphere, colourful shops and restaurants to suit every taste and pocket.
The buildings of Beauport Court are two-storey, white-walled and red-roofed in the attractive Spanish style and are set in neatly landscaped ground with palm trees and other tropical foliage.
The unit consists of an entrance hall, one bedroom with a queen size bed and ample storage, a living/dining room, a kitchen and a bathroom. The rooms are light and airy with ceiling fans and air-conditioning and the kitchen is well equipped with excellent appliances. The living/dining room has one whole wall of glass doors opening onto the balcony - perfect for al fresco dining!
The attractive pool area is well furnished with a bar on the waters edge where you can relax with a cool drink and enjoy the waterside location.
Laundry facilities are available on the complex. Public buses are accessible at the end of the street.
LOCATION AND AMENITIES
The island boasts an excellent infrastructure with good roads, public transport and reliable power, telephone and utilities.
There are also several championship standard golf courses, world class scuba diving, excellent boating and good fishing. There are various sports and social clubs, a theatre, cinemas and a wide choice of fine dining from the delicious local Bahamian fare to a range of international cuisine and gourmet restaurants.
Grand Bahama is just a short 25 minute flight from Miami, Fort Lauderdale, or the Bahamas capital, Nassau, all of which have a large range of air links to the rest of the world.
Spread over a large expanse of Atlantic Ocean, the 700 islands of The Bahamas bask in breezy semi-tropical sunshine year round. About one hundred of the islands are minimally inhabited, and just a small handful has any kind of sizeable population.
Starting just 50 miles from the Florida coast, the archipelago swoops southeast for some 600 miles, almost to Haiti and Eastern Cuba. The capital, Nassau, is located on New Providence, while the second city, Freeport, is on Grand Bahama. The remainder of the islands, known as the Family Islands, including Andros, the Abacos, Eleuthera, and The Exumas, are very accessible, thanks to a couple of small, but very reliable, local airlines.
The greatest asset of these islands is the incredible sea, which they ornament. Colours range from pale crystal green in the Bahama banks to deep regal blue in Exuma Sound and the awesomely deep Tongue of the Ocean. The water is so clear that you hardly need a snorkel mask to view the astonishing array of marine life at the countless coral reefs. Following a close second to the water are the beautiful white sand beaches which surround the islands....Read more

We had a fantastic time here, we were met by Pat on arrival who explained everything we needed to know. The apartment had every thing you would need and is in a great location close walking distance to port Lucaya it has a great pool and lovely views. It was very clean great tv channels and a comfortable bed. It was no trouble to ring Pat if you needed to know anything she is very helpful. There is a local supermarket about a ten minute walk away, but no problem to catch a bus back only $1.50 each. The beach is amazing lots of water sports. We hope to stay there again.
Thank you Judy and Peter. I'm glad you had a nice time.

“Comments about the Lovely 1- bed apartment at Freeport”
Left on 10/25/2011 for a stay in April 2011 | A FlipKey verified reviewerReviewed Oct 25, 2011Stayed Apr 2011
Lack of amentities at the apartment, ex; no paper toilet, old bed sheets, not towels, ect...to far form the beach ( about 20 minutes by walk) no accomadations possible at the beach, need to pay 10 to 20$ per day for a chair, we cannot use the services with the hotels along the beach , far from the grocery( by taxi only or with a rental car).the patio doors need to be repair. I recommend this apartment for people who work at Freeport not for a vacation.
Basically cannot understand this review. I always leave at least one toilet roll in the bathroom. The sheets on the bed are crisp white cotton, purchased earlier this year, and there are spare sets in the closet. As well as brightly coloured towels on the towel rail, there is a pile of soft white towels on the shelf in the cupboard. The beach is about five minutes walk away, as is confirmed in the other reviews. Also, there are about four miles of beautiful, empty, white sand beach so it really is not necessary to use the small strip of more crowded beach at the hotel, which is designated for the use of hotel guests. The grocery store is a fifteen minute walk, but there is also a public bus which takes just a couple of minutes. It stops right outside the store and at a stop less than five minutes from the apartment. There is no problem with the actual patio doors, but one the screen doors was not sliding properly some time ago. That problem has now been dealt with. I am really sorry that this lady was not happy with her stay. I think that maybe a full-service hotel would have been more suitable for her.

Pat went out of her way to make every aspect of our vacation enjoyable. She couldn't have been more helpful and pleasant to deal with. The apartment was perfect for our needs, clean, comfortable and close to all the local amenities. There is a very nice pool on the grounds and a beautiful beach within a short walk. Restaurants and shopping are also a short walk away in the popular Port Lucaya Marketplace. Highest recommendation!
