A super cottage in beautiful and relaxing surroundings, well sit

Left on Dec 13, 2012 for a stay in August 2012

We very much enjoyed our stay in Damson Croft; the surroundings were so peaceful and it was a very relaxing retreat with our two teenage boys. The grounds are lovely and, even though some of the days we stayed were quite wet, it was super to go out exploring and return to the warm environment of the cottage which is very well equipped - a real home from home! The absence of shower, dishwasher, …

Quiet chill in the country

Left on Dec 07, 2009 for a stay in October 2009

The cottage was easy to find, inside it was warm and welcoming with lots of original features. It was warm and cosy with the central heating and the open fire upstairs in the lounge was great on a night. The village centre was 2 minutes walk away with all the shops, bakers, butchers and pubs you could need. We recommend a visit to the indian restaurant, good food at reasonable prices. The walking…

Fantastic winter break

Left on Mar 01, 2012 for a stay in December 2011

Well-resourced and comfortably fitted, warm and cosy, versatile accommodation in this delightful cottage. Kirby Moorside provided for all our needs - shops, pubs, delicatessan, and lots of nearby walks and places to visit. Kitchen is particularly well-fitted out. Really liked the quirky layout. This is a part of Yorkshire that I'd never visited before and I was pleasantly surprised.

A most comfortable stay

Left on Oct 21, 2011 for a stay in August 2011

The cottage was very comfortable and had everything that we needed. It was well located and enabled us to explore the area. Thirsk was nearby with supermarkets and plenty of independent traders of all kinds. The owners were very welcoming and the little extra touches of milk, flowers, bottle of wine and fresh eggs from their hens were lovely. If there is one downside to wheelhouse cottage then it…
