Nia Roo is a delightful freshly decorated cosy 2 bedroom cottage offering guests a comfortable place to relax and unwind on the Isle of Islay, an ideal base for sharing with friends or spending time with family. There is a garden with lawn and decked area, seating and a BBQ a useful addition in fine weather.It is ideally situated opposite the famous Bowmore Whisky Distillery and Visitors Centre, the harbour and pebbled beach are only a moments walk away.

The village of Bowmore lies right in Islay's heart on the shores of Lochindaal on the island of Islay which is the most southerly of the Hebrides and offers something for everyone. From secluded beaches where you could walk for miles without meeting another soul to lively entertainment and a brilliant welcome from the friendly locals, Islay has it all.

“Great central location”

Very happy at Nia Roo. It had everything. Right beside the distillery which emits a gentle hum and a fabulous aroma. Jean left whisky and shortbread for us - much appreciated. Seriously convenient location. Recommended.

“Cosy, central, welcoming pet friendly cottage.”

This was so central and accessible within maybe a minute of walking distance to Bowmore Distillery and then to the beach. There are a fantastic selection of great food and drinks available locally whether you want to enjoy a takeaway. or sit in at one of the local fab hotel restaurants with great cuisine. An immaculate, cosy welcoming cottage hosts a book onsite from the owner that shouldn’t be overlooked. This was really helpful with with lots or guidance and recommendations for exploring and making the most of a visit to Islay. For those visiting distilleries and ports, I suggest you plan in travel time or else book local taxis in advance to make the most of your visit. Every single tour guide provided a knowledgeable and unique experience. Everyone we met was so friendly and welcomed us to this humbling beautiful island. Jim the taxi driver - a great character. I’ll definitely be back and would happily book and use this great accommodation again!

“Cosy cottage - perfect home from home”

Location was terrific. Walking distance from shops and directly opposite the distillery. Close to start of the path for a walk around the battery which starts next to the distillery and goes along the shore. Easy to get to all other parts of the island. Cottage warm and comfortable with a fully enclosed garden which was perfect for our dogs. Very friendly neighbours. We had a great stay despite it being in Winter!

Great position for visiting the whole island, spacious, comfortable and well equipped, with good settees and comfortable beds, easy walk to well stocked supermarket and everything you need for a week’s stay on Islay

How do damage deposits work?

If Jean (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
