Description

The Isle of Barra is the jewel of the Hebrides. It has everything to offer the holidaymaker, stunning beaches, watersports, hillwalking, good food, spectacular scenery, wildlife, wild flowers and is steeped in history. It is a paradise for photographers, walkers, runners and cyclists and the friendliness of the welcome is second to none.

Taigh Ciorstaidh is a lovely, renovated croft house situated on the East side of Barra with stunning views across Loch Na Obe to the Sound of Barra and Eriskay. It is located approximately 4 miles from Castlebay and 3 miles from the cockle strand of the airport.

The accommodation consists of 3 bedrooms, living room, kitchen and shower room. The upper floor has been completely renovated and consists of one twin and one single bedroom. On the ground floor there is a large family room with a double and single bed. The living room contains two leather settees. It has a television and DVD player. There is a pine fitted kitchen with microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer. It is a sunny, cosy cottage, with night storage heating throughout and an electric fire in the living room. It is a no-smoking home, where pets are welcome

“pet friendly cottage on barra”

perfect location on barra -the best beach we found was east beach on vatersay. the cottage has everything you need. we only had an issue with a faulty dryer also it is pet friendly

“Lovely stay”

Stayed here for four nights. Ideally situated for exploring this incredible island. Comfy beds. Lots of fresh linen and towels provided. Donald was extremely accommodating and incredibly helpful. Steep drive so best to reverse in. Clean and tidy with everything you will require for your stay. Bathroom did have a strong smell of smoke when we arrived but this did fade during our stay. Great value for money.

“We loved it.”

The cottage was warm, clean and welcoming. OK it wasn’t luxurious but it was homely, in a great place with great views and just what we needed. We would return without second thoughts. My husband loved the peace and quiet. Barra is a lovely place to visit and cottage is well placed for the island as long as you have a car.
