Description

Our lovely light and airy, spacious apartment has been especially designed with couples in mind (we also welcome a small child up to the age of 18 months). Inside you will find high quality furnishings with all modern amenities, lots of space and a real sense of home comfort from the moment you open the door. Although the apartment forms part of our property it is completely independent with its own separate entrance (suitable for wheelchair access - please check requirements with owners) and the kitchen overlooks your own private, secluded outdoor dining area.

Outside you can also enjoy wandering around the 5000 square metres of pretty gardens, filled with trees and flowers and the sound of bird song. The large pool and surrounding terrace is in full sunshine all day, ideal for a refreshing dip or sunbathing. If you need to escape from the sun for a while there is also an undercover shaded dining area with a summer kitchen in the Poolhouse where you can keep your wine or beer chilled in the fridge and use simple cooking facilities to make a snack. The pool is heated so guests benefit from an extended swimming season between May and October, and its only shared with the owners.

If you want ideas or suggestions about places to visit, wine tastings, good local restaurants or anything else that would make your holiday more pleasurable then we will be happy to oblige. The two of us live on site and so someone is normally around to answer any questions.

“truly peaceful and relaxing”

Very well appointed Gite in an amazing location. Pool and surroundings are perfect.good sized pool, sunny and shaded areas around it and a fridge and summer kitchen. The grounds are lovely too and you even have your own lawn area with a dining tale and chairs great location for vineyards, beaches ,lovely villages and of course Bordeaux.

“Get away from it all!”

The gite is a great size for 2 people with all the facilities you could need including fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, iron & ironing board, TV with freeview etc. It is beneath the main house so it stays really nice and cool even when it’s boiling outside. There is a fan provided if you need it though. The pool is heavenly! Also has a lovely covered shaded area to sit if you want with a fridge and sink. Nice cycle routes locally, we cycled into nearby Jonzac and back easily. Also kayaking/SUP available nearby at Base de Loisirs or for longer kayaking trips contact Seugne Aventures. Many lovely restaurants locally. For a really special treat try Quincallerie in Montendre, the chef used to run a Michelin star kitchen and our meal was superb! Tony who owns the gite is super helpful and friendly and will give you any recommendations or advice you need.

“Beautiful clean quite gite.”

This property was excellent. The accommodation was clean and spacious. The grounds around it were pleasant and the swimming pool area was quiet and the pool heated and clean. The owners were very helpful and accommodating. The town of Jonzac was lovely and about 5 to 10 minutes away. This is also where the nearest shops / supermarkets were. There were no shops or restaurants within easy walking distance but the owners did offer the use of bikes. The area was all vineyards, sunflowers and maize but was very pleasant to drive round with the roads being quiet. There were interesting towns and sites nearby. We drove to the gite from Calais in a day, the roads were good but it was a six hour continuous drive. We can happily recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet restful holiday and plan to return there in the future.
