Description
Kate's cottage is situated on the Wild Atlantic Way (R289) approximately i.5km south east of Kilcar village.Although relatively new the cottage was built to resemble an old style single storey dwelling with period touches such as a half door and bumpy plaster.Once inside you are greeted with a large hearth with pot belly stove and warm golden timber furnishings.
Downstairs comprises a large open kitchen/ dining area,downstairs double bedroom and adjacent to these are a shower(wet room) and a disabled equipped toilet
Moving upstairs you will find a large open plan bedroom with a single and double bed and a full bathroom.
The cottage enjoys stunning sea views and there are several beaches less than five minutes away,ideal for swimming,snorkeling or if you feeling a little more adventurous,surfing.
Boat trips are available in nearby Teelin for angling or sightseeing around Slieve League,if you think it's impressive from the top looking down it is positively awesome gazing upwards from the deck of a boat.
If hill walking is your thing,then there are numerous mapped and sign posted walks in the surrounding area and a scattering of archaeological sites to visit also.

“Fab house and fab place”
We cannot fault our stay. Setting is beautiful, house was lovely and clean and Michelle was lovely and so helpful. She has just got some chickens and the eggs were delicious. Highly recommend a stay here.

“Fantastic overall”
Fantastic overall: The location, just stunning! The cottage, fits right in with the location! The accessibility It’s on a dead end road with literally zero traffic! The views, are right at your front door! The host, michelle was amazing! Lives right next door, but the only time we seen her, was when we went over to her house! Nothing bad to say....well, apart from the weather, but we made the most of it!! Highly recommended And we will be back!!!

“Family trip”
One of our favourite places , Michelle was very helpful and friendly . The cottage itself was amazing and safe for kids . We are definitely coming back in summer . Highly recommend

“Great views out the front, lovely area”
The views from the front were difficult to tear yourself away from. Easy to stroll down to the tiny harbour and wander over the paths at the headland. Great place to be based for a longer stay than the 3 days we had. Enjoyed the meal at the Rusty Mackerel at Teelin , great walk and views of the slieve lieg- didn't get around to having a Guiness at the local in Kilcar. Very pretty rivers with stopping places to sit or wander along. Michelle was very friendly, helpful and unobtrusive. The fire was lit when we arrived which was welcome as it was fairly late and getting a bit nippier. The upstairs was particularly toasty. The place had all you needed. It was a very quiet location and we enjoyed watching the hares and birdlife. There were two local shops that we saw but it was a quick jaunt to Killybegs and we enjoyed the local produce available from the supervalu supermarket, munching it on the fantastic beach Funch? something - a couple of kms on the way back from Killybegs. Should have taken my swimmers!
