Description from owner

Description

The Wild Atlantic Way on your doorstep, Stoneacre is built on an elevated site with 180 degree views of Killary Harbour the only fjiord in Ireland and the only place in Ireland, mentioned in the BBC book "100 Places To See Before You Die". Killary Harbour is also one of the major views of the Wild Atlantic Way. The house has panoramic views from all major rooms terraces and garden.Stoneacre is a three minute walk from the village of Leenane with its 2 pubs, 1 gourmet restaurant, 2 cafes, and 2 gift shops featuring lovely Irish items. The Leenane hotel has a pub with live music two nights a week in the summer, and serves food. The house is furnished to a high standard with comfort in mind and is well equipped for ease of self catering. The house has large terraced gardens over looking Killary Harbour. Garden furniture is supplied.

Further details

Stoneacre is set high on an elevated site to give maximum views from the house. The site is set part way up a mountain and the site was broken out of the rock , because of this there are steep drops both from the land behind the house and from the front terrace onto the drive. We would therefore suggest that it would be unsuitable for children who would not recognise the dangers .

Further details indoors

Stoneacre is a modern well equipped house sitting on an elevated site with panoramic views over Killary Harbour. The house has a sitting room which seats 8 comfortably furnished with antiques and has a piano for home entertainment. It has an wood burner fire for any chilly evenings. Freeview TV , DVD Library, Stereo , Video Library and doors which lead onto the front terrace with views over the bay. Kitchen with Aga, large fridge/freezer, breakfast table. which seats 6 easily. This room is open plan with the dining area which seats 8 comfortably and the family area furnished with comfy sofas and chairs all with panoramic views over the bay and access onto the front terrace. Freeview TV and DVD.player. piped from sitting room. Utility room with conventional cooker, deep fat fryer, washer/dryer bread maker . Boot room off with freezer.Cloakroom off. The house has 4 bedrooms, 3 double and 1 twin , The master bedroom with sea views and en suite. All beds are top quality and duvet or blankets are available.

Further details outdoors

The house is set on an elevated site with landscaped gardens. There is a small terrace to the side of the house equipped with table and chairs and garden bench. This is a sun trap and takes the sun for most of the day. A small stream and waterfall runs beside this terrace.Sea views to the front of the terrace. The front terrace is accessed by both the sitting room and the family room and leads onto the lawned area with panoramic views over Killary Harbour. This takes the sun from approximately midday to sun set. Table and chairs are on this terrace with more stored away. Cushions are stored in the house. To the side of the house is a purpose built car park which takes 4/5 cars and leads to a gated drive behind the house which would provide more parking if needed. There is a sweeping drive down to the road , the gradient is quite severe and there are steps down to the road through the garden for easy access.
