“Very nice escapism in Snowdonia”
Warm welcome from the owner. Very beautiful mountain views from the grounds. Cosy self catering accommodation. Nice retreat for a couple. We highly recommend it for anyone is a nature lover.

“Beautiful peaceful location”
The cottage is a lovely small bungalow type rustic property, petfect for 2 people. Lovely comfy bed. Places to sit outside and enjoy the flowers, narture and peace and quiet. Not too far away from places to visit. The owners of the property are next door so very handy should you need any information, they are happy to advise on places to go etc... Their dogs are beautiful and friendly.

“If only we had known!”
I did ask for the full post code before booking but was advised by the owner this was not allowed until we had booked! When we did eventually find the place ( having been given full post code) only to be advised by owner, several properties shared the code & then we found out why. The property is extremely secluded, perfect for walks, relaxing and totally chilling out, however what spoiled it for me was it was about a mile up a very steep track& single track. Very steep sides & few passing places. NOT for the faint hearted or a new large expensive car! We had to do this journey 2 x per day - in & out each day to explore the places we wanted to visit. Shattered nerves each time. Not what you want on holiday. The building is a converted Cart House & whilst very clean neat & tidy it does have a primitive shower and basic cooking & little worktop space. Have had much better for the money but each to their own. Will NOT book anything again with checking Google Maps - therefore need FULL postcode!

Response from the owner Well if only you’d looked under “Location “ in the property listing ! Then you would have seen the little google map showing our property . Incidentally the post code and address are also there for any one who wants to research the terrain before booking. Sorry but your description of the approach road up does sound like something from. “The World’s Most Dangerous Roads “. Far from being a “track” it is a tarmaced B road with plenty of passing places : dozens of locals and visitors alike brave the 1/2 mile meander down to the main rd. every day without mishap - some even have new, large expensive cars like yours ! . It is also a bus route connecting the village of Llanfachreth with the town 3 miles away . Once you’ve mastered the art of driving slowly and sounding the horn at corners it’s a breeze. I hope the “primitive” shower did not spoil your stay - I realise it is only a straight forward power shower with hot water available 24/7 and a new spacious cubicle but “ primitive “. Really ? This conjures up an image of a bucket with holes in it suspended from the ceiling . If this 4 year old power shower is your idea of primitive then please don’t venture into the developing world. The Carthouse offers a stylish and comfortable living space for two people . As you kindly point out the well equipped kitchen area does not have the same preparation spaces as a standard kitchen but it has been thoughtfully planned and the majority of guests find it perfectly adequate for a short stay . There are a number of pictures on the listing showing the shower and the kitchen area so prospective guests can make up their own minds . Thank you for leaving a review and sorry that the road system caused you so much angst - should you wish to return to this area In the future II can recommend a number of excellent hotels within a few miles of the town that might be more suited to your needs .
