“Wonderful Retreat!” A great place to get away and relax! We loved every minute of our stay. It rained the entire weekend so we missed out on using the fire-pit and the hot-tub but we got to enjoy hearing the rain on the metal roof and the far off sound of the train. It was the perfect place for three close friends to unwind and catch up on each other's busy lives.

“Memorial Day Weekend” The place was great and had everything we needed. Gene was awesome, always replying quickly to questions, and even working with us on early check-in and late check-out. My only suggestion would be to check out the shower head upstairs - was a little all over the place :)

Forest Glen - WIFI / pet friendly

Luray house

  • 3 bedrooms
  • 2 bathrooms

“The property fulfilled exactly as it was advertised providing exactly the amenities we required for our stay.” Forest Glenn provided us with the amenities we required so that we were not burdened having to pack a multitude of extra luggage and utensils. The dog also had a wonderful week whom Becky and David welcomed to their property. The setting is quiet and serene making it a spectacular setting for R&R. This provided us with a central location to visit the sites we had planned to see. (Shenandoah National Park 3x's, a bear in the wild, Smithsonian Air And Space museum at Dulles, Monticello, Virginia civil war museum, and the George Washington National Forest.( A lot of good hiking trails. At least 2 handicapped accessible.)

“Great time” We had a great time in this house. First of all, there was not a speck of dirt when we moved in. The house is perfectly situated. 10 mins from Luray, 20 from Shenandoah River Outfitters and 10 from the Thorton Gap. We did a canoeing trip, two greats hikes and a rafting trip all in 4 full days. We could've easily stayed for more. We're looking forward to staying again...

“Great views in a very clean, comfortable cabin in the woods.” We truly enjoyed our too-brief stay in Grand View cabin. The views from the family room as well as from the deck are amazing. The kitchen was well stocked and everything was spotlessly clean and neat. We can't wait to come back again.

“I can NOT rave enough about this place! I look forward to staying again!” We looooooved this property! My review wont do justice for this beautiful, spacious, RELAXING, private estate! The downstairs was the perfect venue for me to accommodate guests at my 25th wedding vow renewal! The ease of having the ceremony and reception all in one place was so stress free! All the wedding guests were in awe of the place! The bathrooms were beautiful and handicapped accessible for my elderly guests. The grandson and other children loved the playground & nursery. The teens loved the pool table. I had more than enough room for my overnight guests to spread out because you are definitely NOT crammed into this place! Lots, lots and lots of room! The huge house, decks and terrace made it easy for people to spread out and enjoy everything. The 2 kitchens was new, large and modern. The master bedroom was very romantic with the gas fireplace. The fireplace in the downstairs grand-room was the perfect backdrop for our ceremony. The upstairs fireplace in the living room was cozy. The multiple rocking chairs, bonfire area and huge hottub was the perfect cure for the hustle and bustle of a busy day. All the bedrooms were very roomy. The beds were so comfy and luxurious that one of my guests googled the brand name so they could buy one for their own home. lol At the end of our stay, we honestly hated to leave the tranquility and quiet of the place for the "real world". Ken, Paul, and their wives were so helpful and sweet. They all worked hard on making this property into a HOME that all future guests will enjoy!

Old Wagon Lodge In Shenandoah Woods

Luray house

“Relaxing!” We had a wonderful time! The game room was awesome. The cabin was nice and clean. Everything we needed was provided. We live in Hampton Roads, which is very busy and noisy,so to be on top of a mountain, and the only sounds were that of nature was a welcome change. We were very close to Luray Caverns, and the local Food Lion. We spent Saturday hiking in the woods around the cabin. Just loved it! The locals were the epitome of southern hospitality. I highly recommend Old Wagon Lodge. :)

“perfect place to ring in the new year” My family and dog had a great stay - convenient to national park, caverns, and Walmart. Very clean and well maintained - just wish it had a dishwasher. Otherwise, we had a great time and would definitely consider going back. The big yard and river front were spectacular for a fire and our dog to run around.

“Perfect Getaway” We absolutely loved this cabin and use it as the standard against which to judge all other rentals we consider. The cabin was spotless and quaint. We loved stargazing, exploring the creek behind the cabin, attempting to canoe, and cooking chicken in the fire ring. There is a charcoal girll available but we stayed so busy we didn't get a chance to use it. The electric fireplace in the bedroom kept us warm all night and our cat absolutely loved the cute loft. I absolutely recommend anyone considering staying in a cabin in Luray to come here. The grounds were so quiet and it was a quick drive to the Virginia Museum of the Civil War in New Market as well as the beautifully scenic drive in the Blue Ridge Mountains. We came here for our anniversary trip and we had the best time. Even 2 years onward we can't stop raving about it. We made the best memories here and would love to come again if we were ever in Virginia. This cabin is absolute perfection.

“A unique and delightful rental experience!” The charm of history plus up-to-date appliances and conveniences. Add ADA equipped, and pet-friendly made it a perfect spot for a four night stay for a special family occasion (extended to five nights due to a snowstorm). High Ridge cabin in the Blue Ridge Mountains
Wonderful Family Retreat!

My family just got back from a wonderful vacation with High Ridge Cabin as our home base in the Blue Ridge mountains. This cabin has the perfect combination of rustic cabin charm, and modern amenities. The cabin is situated up in the mountains and surrounded by trees, with beautiful views of the mountains. It is quiet and secluded, but only takes about 20 minutes to drive down to the town where there is a full grocery store. My family really enjoyed the campfire pit and the hot tub when the weather was good, and the satellite TV, DVD library, board games, and high speed internet access were much appreciated when we had rain. The cabin has everything you need to make your stay comfortable, and the staff is very responsive if there is anything that you need. The cabin is less than an hour away from Luray and the closest entrance to Skyline drive, plus the drive to those destinations is very scenic. We will definitely be back again in the future!see more

Amazing Grace Getaway
Lovely, well equiped , Immaculate cabin with beautiful views of the mountains throughout.

Lovely, well equiped , immaculate cabin with beautiful views of the mountains throughout. Lots of room and nicely decorated throughout. A large porch on the entrance side of the home with three decks on the other side. Wildlife abounds. Deer and bunnies grazed not 12 feet from the porch every morning and the deer could be seen moving through the yard as they headed to bed down in the evening. The kitchen was equipped with everything one would need (even large and small crockpots!). We spent our week with our daughter and 3 grandsons ages 15, 12 and 11. The pool table was a hit and there were lots of family friendly games in the upstairs closet. Flat screen TVs in each sleeping space. We had no problem accessing the property via the driveway in spite of the fact that some hard rains caused some washing of the gravel during our stay. We vacation in the mountains up and down the East Coast annually and would definitely repeat a stay the next time we are in the Luray area.see more
