Description
Ville du Soleil, a domain of six traditionally built houses, is located on the South - East part of the island of Crete, next to the village of Makrygialos.
It can offer all comforts of a relaxing holiday residence in combination with the simplicity and generosity of the Cretan hospitality.
The domain offers four newly constructed Maisonettes (double-floored houses) and two Bungalows (one-floored houses), which are ready to host the ones who seek the pleasure of the Cretan wild beauty and relax in the view of the Mediterranean Sea.
The houses are built on a hill with the white regional stone, which matches perfectly with the surrounding landscape and are surrounded by the family's olive trees and wild herbs.
All houses have a panoramic view of the olive fields and the surrounding mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, with the Laggada beach around 400 metres away.
On the ground floor of the Maissonete, is the living room with the fully equipped kitchen, a bedroom with two single beds, and a WC with a little shower.
On the upper floor there is the bedroom with a double bed, the large bathroom with a shower, a little storage room and the large balcony with the panoramic view of the sea, the nearby mountains and our olive trees.
The combination of the stonewalls with the wooden furniture and the timber ceilings constitute an elegant decoration of the interiors which can provide at the same time coolness during the summer and warmth during winter.
Each of the four villas and the two bungalows can accommodate up to 5 people and consist of:
• two bedrooms with a balcony (off of the master bedroom on the upper floor for the villas, off the living room for the bungalows), all with a panoramic view of the surrounding area and the Mediterranean Sea,
• living room with fireplace
• fully equipped kitchen and a terrace area
• bathroom with shower, WC and hair dryer
• air condition in each room
• 32” LCD Flat Panel TV and DVD with a USB port.
• Satellite panel with more than 700 global channels
Ville du Soleil provides free wireless connection to the Internet and bikes for the rides around the village, the nearby mountain and the beaches in the area.
The domain is categorized as “self-catered vacation houses”, however, clean linen and towels, as well as cleaning services are offered twice per week.
The family offers also a welcome pack of homemade sweets and raki (the traditional Cretan drink) as well as ingredients for the first breakfasts consisting of: four kinds of coffees (filtered, turkish, nescafe and espresso), tea, local thyme honey, homemade marmalades, butter, and dry bread (rusks). Cooking ingredients such as our own extra virgin olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper, oregano and local herbs are also provided.
A visit to Crete is always a challenge to the senses with the colours, the flavours and the aromas of the Cretan nature. “Ville du Soleil” invites you to explore the hidden natural treasures of the region, the beaches, the mountains, the caves and the gorges, to taste the famous Cretan cuisine and to discover life in its tranquillity and elegant simplicity.

“Charming and peaceful holiday houses with stunning sunset views”
Ville du Soleil is a beautifully designed arrangement of houses all facing the sea and offering stunning sunset views. The houses have two terraces, a ground-floor one to enjoy meals during the day with protective sunshields and a second floor terrace to sunbath, read and watch the sunset. The houses are tastefully furnished and have all the modern amenities you could wish for. Ville du Soleil is located in the south east of Crete and is the place to be for people who would like to avoid mass tourism. This place really allows you to find peace and calm while being surrounded by beautiful nature. Two beaches are reachable in walking distance and you will find hiking trails to some nearby gorges, you can even go diving in Makrigialos. Within five minutes driving distance or 25 minutes walking you can reach the Green Beach Tavern that is situated right by the beach and offers delicious and fresh Greek food. Konstantinos, the host of Ville du Soleil, is the epitome of Greek hospitality and has made us feel at home instantly. He was always reachable and happy to help us with suggestions of what to do in the area. He even gifted us some of his delicious self produced olive oil for my boyfriend's birthday. Thank you for the warm welcome and we hope to see you again soon!
