Description

Period 1930's villa, at Meschers, near Royan. Spend your family holiday at the seaside. The Atlantic coast's sandy beaches are only five minutes stroll away, as is the town centre for all your self-catering needs.

At Meschers you can buy fresh croissants for your breakfast or walk to restaurants, bars (over 20 within 20 minutes walk) shops, supermarket, fresh produce market and pleasure/working port.

Our house is ideal for all the family, large and small - even teenage guests have been impressed! Brightly decorated with some '30's period furniture, but with the family in mind.

Wifi. Kid's TV/play room, with UK and French TV channels, games and DVD player. Second lounge/dining room, 2 bathrooms and toilets. Equipped kitchen and breakfast room. 12 seater table under covered patio for BBQ and al fresco eating, relax whilst the children play in the large safe garden, with mature fruit trees. Off street parking.

Five bedrooms (2 doubles, 2 singles, one family, cots available), one with romantic balcony for a starlit drink. See below for some ideas as there is lots to do and see in the area and further afield. That's if you wish to do anything more that relax in the garden with a chilled glass of Pineau, and a shrimp (or mussel) on the BBQ!

Notes on accommodation: Tea towels, bathmats, duvets, pillow and cases, cleaning products are provided. Good quality double sofa bed in the TV room. This can be used as a 6th bedroom if required or if mobility is a problem - toilets and bathroom downstairs. Free Wifi. Car and bicycle rental available at the Super U supermarket, 5mins walk. We can arrange for taxis and help with car hire. Just ask us for any extra requirements you may have - we will always try and help.

Outside: Large secured garden with fruit trees and lockable gates. Covered terrace eating area with large table and 14 garden chairs. Big bbq. Sun loungers, alley way can be used for boules - provided. Beach and garden toys. Utility Room: Washing machine in the basement. Linen for hire £4 single/cot. £5 double. Beds will be made up for your arrival. Set of 3 towels, 1 hand, 1 beach 1 bath £6 per set. House will be cleaned for your arrival. Cleaning products provided. Cleaning charge 80€. Other: Large, lockable basement for your bikes, surfboards etc.

Lots to see at Meschers (see above) Nearby 5 - 10 minutes drive: Talmont, picturesque car free village. St George de Didonne, ariel tree park, large beach, wind surfing. Royan, shops, beach, port, 1930's and 1950's architecture, sailing, quad bike hire, jet ski, wind surfing. Horse riding, pine forest walks, cycles. Within an hour's drive Romanesque Saintes, Rochefort, and the Hermione ship, Chic La Rochelle, Ile d'Oleron, Gironde, Blaye. A bit further Bordeaux, Poitiers - Futuroscope, Puy de Fou Lots to do and see in this area, or just relax.
