At Polfages we offer 3 gites.
The second gite Belcaire sleeps up to 4 people. Polfages is an idyllic location for your holiday. Situated over looking the rolling hills with views over to the Montagne Noir on one side and the Pyrenees on the other.
It offers a holiday that can be both relaxing and action packed. The city's of Carcassonne and Toulouse are close by as well as the beautiful towns of Mirepoix, Limoux and Foix.
Belcaire is made up of a well equipped kitchen and dining area leading through to a comfortable lounge. There is access to WIFI and English TV channels so you can stay in touch with the world should you so desire.Up stairs there are 2 spacious bed rooms which can be arranged with either 2 single beds or a super king size bed, giving you maximum flexibility and a great nights sleep.The lounge leads on to the terrace and BBQ are, where you live the alfresco life style whilst relaxing with the stunning views.You can access the garden and swimming pool from the terrace. Polfages is ideal if you just want to sit by the pool and relax taking in the stunning views or if you want to make the most of you time in the region.It is possible to rent both Belcaire and our other gites Mazamet and Calmont for those bigger parties, allowing up to 14 people to holiday together, whilst allowing guests the ability to have time to them selves at the end of the day in separate gites.We want to offer you in Polfages the chance to enjoy the best standards found in English country cottages with the life style that can only be found in the South of France.
With a location we fell in love with it really is one of the most relaxing and beautiful places we have ever seen. It offers a holiday that can be both relaxing and action packed. Polfages is ideal if you just want to sit by the pool and relax taking in the stunning views or if you want to make the most of you time in the region. With the beach just over an hour away and the mountains the same you can truly get the best of both types of holiday.
A few other things to think about for your holiday.
One of the reasons we love living at Polfages is that Sundays are still see as a day to spend with the family and as such there are very few supermarkets open. Those that are open close at around 7.30 on Saturday evening and only open on Sunday morning . Because our guest may not be able to get their 1st shopping due of arrivals times, we offer our guest the chance to have their 1st shopping done for them. Just email us a list of shopping you what you would like us to get for you and for 5 Euros we will have it ready and way for when you get here. Please remember that not all items are not the same in France and some specific English items maybe quite expensive or unobtainable.
We want our guests to have a great holiday with us and sometimes that means that they do not want to cook or are planning to be out all day and would rather have something prepared for them. Because of this, we offer a number of different options to our guests. Starting with pizza's, hand made and cooked in our own pizza oven. Each pizza is made with your toppings in mind and should be enough for 2 people and cost 9 euros. Twice a week to offer our guests a pre set menu depending on what’s seasonal and in the garden and also our guests personal requirements. We offer either a starter and main course or main course and desert/cheese for 15 Euros or starter, main desert/cheese for 18 euros. All our meals are made to order for you with ingredients where possible sourced from our own vegetable patch or soft fruit garden so they can not be any fresher. Our chickens produce all the eggs we need. We are more than happy for children to help pick the veg and fruit that they will be eating that evening, allowing them to really enter into the spirit of the holiday. If we can not grow the ingredients we will source them from the local farmers markets making sure the we are supporting the region and its growers and giving you the best of the regions produce.
If you are with us for 2 weeks or enjoying a 2 destination holiday you may wish to make us of our laundry service to make your stay easier or just making going home and the thought of washing and ironing already done. The charge is 10 euros per load and an ironing service for an additional 5 euros.
