Description from owner

Description

Large traditional style cottage sleeping up to 12 people close to one of the most beautiful and secluded beaches in Ireland.

The property itself has beautiful sea-views and is 1km from the golden strands of Kinnagoe beach on the Inishowen peninsula. This tranquil setting provides the perfect getaway yet it is within a 10minute drive of both the fishing port of Greencastle (with a ferry service which links to Magilligan) and the bustling town of Moville.

The nature of the property makes it ideal for large families or families wishing to holiday together yet attain a degree of privacy. It has spacious communal areas with plenty of activities for the whole family whether you are looking for a quiet spot to pick a book from the library and experience a little nostalgia with the old record collection, or you fancy a game of pool, darts, table football, air hockey, some computer games or even just some simple board games for the whole family.

A 15 minute drive along the coast brings you to the lovely seaside village of Culdaff whilst a 30min drive in the opposite direction will take you into the historic city of Derry.

Please note there is no wifi in the cottage. This is one person's heaven and another person's hell so please make sure all that are staying at the cottage are aware so there are no surprises!. Whilst this can be scary (especially for the younger generation) what our guests find is that this is only a good thing as you are able to reconnect with family and friends in time honoured tradition. Resting, relaxing and recuperation is the order of the day at Annie Clare's Cottage.

“Donegal Magic”

Reviewed 7 May 2019

Booked this house for a family weekend and was simply amazing. We were met by the owner Damian who had lit the fire for us and showed us around and described everything in great detail (was a real gentleman). The toy room was a hit with the kids as was the dart board for the adults. Also the outside swings and ride ons.The “craic” was great.House was so roomy that no one got in anyone’s way.Alice and Damian had thought of everything to make this house a real family getaway. The view from outside was sheer magic and I would recommend it without doubt. The communication between Alice and myself was top drawer.A weekend just wasn’t long enough to enjoy this house.Hopefully will return.

“Great family location”

Reviewed 18 Jul 2016

Thanks to Alice and Damien for the use of their house. We stayed with extended family aged from 8-69 (10 of us) and there was plenty of room. The kitchen is well stocked with every utensil a person might need and the record collection was a great hit with everybody! Kinnagoe Bay is a beautiful beach and we ate in Rosato's as recommended by Damien and had a great meal in a lovely traditional pub (staff so friendly and service great). We'll be back Kinnagoe way in the future for sure!
