"Clean flat close to subway"
Left on 06/05/2015 for a stay in May 2015
We felt very at our comfort in this apartment. It's small like most flats are in NYC, but sufficient for 4 persons (or even more).
The most important things: we got the keys as promised, we could reach the owner whenever needed and inside it was clean and nice. We also liked the bathroom with the spacious shower as well as the neat kitchen. There could be one more seat for the (breakfast) bar).
A short way to subway (different lines) or bus stations, some shops nearby and rather a quiet environment.
No great view outside the windwos, though. Air conditioning worked well, but it's very close to the beds and noisy. So we stopped it during the night in order not to catch a cold.
Television with Netflix and different movies was interesting, but we were so tired in the evening, we didn't use a lot. Free Wifi was included, my kids were happy!
For our stay in New York, it was perfect and for the price all right. We enjoyed ourselves.
"Noisiest stay ever."

The photos of the apartment are realistic but they give an impression of a much bigger space. Be prepared, this apartment is 'compact'.
It was clean and well presented for our arrival but it had some maintenance issues that were rectified promptly when reported to the owner? (Mr G) who was pleasant, empathetic and welcoming.
The big issue is that the apartment is located very close to the intersection of 143rd and busy Broadway and close to well patronised bars that operate 'til the early hours of the morning. The patrons arriving and leaving these establishments created a lot of noise. In addition to this all the traffic on the one-way 143rd St stops at the traffic lights at the intersection immediately under the apartment and the noise from the vehicles is amplified in the echo chamber created by the buildings on either side of the very narrow street. To top this the local residents of the many surrounding apartments congregate on the steps of the building and sidewalk, talking, singing, listening to boom boxes and generally having a good time until well after midnight..
The author of the label "the city that never sleeps" must have lived in this apartment?
If you want a quiet relaxing holiday this is not the place for you.

We had a wonderful week in NYC. The apartment was beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean, and contained everything we needed to be very comfortable. We even cooked a few meals in the well appointed kitchen. The location was amazing, we spent many hours just sitting with a drink at the floor to ceiling windows, and watching the bustle of Times Square beneath us. The NQR subway stop is directly beneath the building, with other lines a block away, meaning that it was an ideal base for sightseeing all of Manhattan, and beyond. The owners were very helpful, all dealings with them were quick, fair, and easy, and they provided us with guides suggesting activities and places to eat around the apartment. Make sure you have a chat with Milton on the front desk if you want some good restaurant recommendations. We will certainly be returning to this apartment when we are next in New York, and would recommend it to anyone.
"Spacious apartment for 3 of us at great location"

We have been traveling to New York for several times during the past couple years, and this apartment has the best value with great location. We'd highly recommend it, Very close to subway, central park, many boutiques, and restaurants. The receptionist was professional, helpful and super friendly. She gave us very much information about fun activities in town. The furniture was well appointed. Although the kitchenette was a bit dated, it's pretty convenient with stoves, fridge, everything you'd expect for. It didn't bother us much since we spent most of our time outside exploring new york like most of tourists do :-) I'll stay there again if I'm ever in new york again.
"A really wonderful apartment"

Would definitely highly recommend this beautiful apartment in historic harlem. Julie was brilliant to deal with, and most generous with her help and guidance. The apartment was very clean (thanks to the very sweet Sandra), and as gorgeous as the pictures. The sweet little garden was a sanctuary of calm at the end of each day in the city. Beds were comfortable, with plenty of clean bedding and towels for the five of us. It was a treat to meet Julie and see the obvious pride she takes in her wonderful property. We feel very lucky to have found it, and thank Julie and Sandra for all their help and kindness.
