Getting around

Getting around Newquay is great, already only five minutes from Fistral Beach and 5/10 minute walk or 5 minute drive into Newquay for all the shops, cafes, restaurants and several other beaches. The bus station is in Newquay as well as a train station. There are also two taxi ranks in Newquay and you will find Taxi numbers in the welcome folder inside the apartment.

Your accommodation will be ready for your arrival from 4.00pm onwards but dont worry if wanting to arrive late we operate a key safe box system and will provide contact details throughout your stay. We are based in Newquay so will be contactable at all times. You will also be provided with either the owner details or house keepers details.

“Home from home but wish access road was not so narrow”

For a 2 bedroom property, Coral Bay Newquay is a spacious and comfortable dwelling. Make sure you have the directions to the cottage because you will miss the turn off without it. When we arrived we were surprised at how narrow the access road was as this was not evident from the photographs or description. We reversed in because at the time there was not much turning angle due to the other cars. That was our only disappointment with the cottage. Also, there is a surfing school opposite so this explains why you need the parking permit even though you have your own parking space. This is s great benefit because free parking in Newquay is not easy. This meant we saved a fortune on parking fees. Overall we were delighted with Coral Bay cottage. It was clean as well as tidy and unlike previous reviewers, we did not think that the decoration was tired, just lived in which makes it quite homely.The The kitchen is well stocked with appliances, cutlery and crockery. There is also plenty of storage. Appliances included a washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also good Wi-Fi but the TV signal is poor so thank goodness we bought our Fire stick. The view from the balcony is west facing with a great view of Fistral Bay and we enjoyed watching the glorious sunset which has to be seen - simply sensational. The graveyard is just behind the courtyard garden and did not bother us. You also have a good view of the golf course. Coral Bay is in walking distance to Newquay town centre, Fistral Beach, Lusty Glaze Beach and the Gannel estuary. The train station and bus station are in walking distance too so great for day trips The Spar shop is about 3 minutes walk and the larger Sainsbury's is about 7 minutes walk. We drove to the Lidl about 10 minutes away for a big weekly shop. All in all, Coral Bay is a great location to explore Newquay as well as wider Cornwall and we enjoyed returning back to the cottage to sit on the balcony to watch the golfers and those enjoying watersports. Overrall, we enjoyed our time at Coral Bay and felt so fortunate to have a comfortable place to stay that was well positioned for accessing all that Newquay and Cornwall has to offer.

“Lovely house fab location needs TLC”

Lovely house in a fab location with the potential to be great. Unfortunately needs some TLC. The oven settings for example had worn off and you couldnt make out what they were so had to try and find instructions on google and guess which model it was. Bathroom is also in need of updating. Would stay again.
