Description

This is an attractive cottage, with lovely sea views, overlooking Kames Bay and the hills of the Cowal Peninsula. The cottage sleeps 6, and also has an additional foldout bed, plus a travel-cot and high-chair for infants.

The kitchen has a cooker, fridge, dishwasher, freezer, air-fryer, microwave with inbuilt grill, and a slow cooker/crockpot,

The Isle of Bute has three golf courses, fishing in several lochs, and is good for walking and cycling. There is a regular bus service to and from the main town of Rothesay which stops almost outside the door.

The Isle of Bute is easily accessible from the mainland with regular ferries from Wemyss Bay (by the railway station), of from Colintraive, to the north of the island.

Getting around

There are regular buses between Port Bannatyne, Rothesay, and Kilchattan Bay. There is also an hourly bus to Ettrick Bay which stops just outside the cottage. (Ettrick Bay has a large Tea Room overlooking the bay which offers meals, ice creams, cakes, and beverages.) During the Sumner there is an open-top bus that travels around the island.

“fantastic stay”

had a brilliant 2 night stay at Port Bannatyne. The accommodation was excellent, large comfortable rooms, 3 bathrooms and ideal for us was a bedroom downstairs with a shower room for our elderly mother. Huge modern kitchen with everything you could need, dining area and comfortable lounge with lovely see views and just a short walk to the wee community pub offering a gin tasting evening and open Mike music ..Great atmosphere. would highly recommend

“Beautiful Bute”

Lovely cottage, roomy and well equipped. Good view of the bay from the living /dining room windows. Ample on street parking. A short drive from Rothesay and also to the beach at Ettrick Bay. Thoroughly enjoyed our week, thanks.

“Excellent accommodation”

Very conveniently located for trips to all the beaches, 5 minute drive from the shops in Rothsey, lovely beach and woodland walks. House very spacious and well equipped. The owner was very responsive, helpful and friendly. Would definately stay there again and recommend!

“Spacious cottage”

Great spacious cottage,3 lovely bathrooms and 4 bedrooms all generous size, well equipped and comfortable. We filled it to capacity and still felt roomy particularly kitchen and dining area.Easy to find and easy access to all amenities.Host was very helpful and responds quickly. Response from the owner Thank you for your kind review, Claire. There used to be cycle hire, but the bike shop stopped doing it. However there are lots of great beaches and countryside for walkers and ramblers, as you noticed. We do hope to see you again one day.
