Description
The Tailor's Cottage is a three bedroom holiday cottage nestled in the hillside and located in the townland of Tullyconnel in the northern part of the beautiful Fanad peninsula.Sleeping accomodation is 2 bedrooms with a double bed inbeach 1 bedroom with full size bunks, sleeping for 7th person is a fold away bed, cot also available.
Recently refurbished with all mod cons, while still retaining the charachter of a cosy country cottage. The holiday home is surrounded by rugged coastine which is dotted with numerous beaches, coves, small harbours and rocky headlands. With its location close to the Harry Blaney Bridge the cottage is ideally located to explore the neighbouring Rosguill Peninsula
A number of top class tourist attractions surround Tailors Cottage. These include the highly rated golf courses at Portsalon and Rosapenna, the dramatic Fanad Lighthouse, the superb Blue Flag Beach at Portsalon and two spectacular coastal drives - The Atlantic Drive on the Rosguill Peninsula and the Knockalla Coast Road on the Fanad Peninsula.

“A little gem for families with dogs!”
I booked the Tailor's Cottage for 5 nights as an unwind break for my daughter after her A levels. We have 3 dogs so find it difficult to get holiday lets to cater for us. I know Kathleen was unsure at first about us going with 3 dogs as this is farming country and surrounded by sheep and a few cattle. I assured Kathleen that our dogs would not be off their leads as I wouldn't want any incidents happening or pregnant sheep aborting due to a dog entering a field and stressing them out. We used the house as a base and drove around all the beautiful surrounding areas and beaches each day. A few minutes from Fanad lighthouse. 10 minute drive to Carrickart, 15 minutes from Milford for food shops and a great Chinese. 20 minutes from Downings and such a beautiful beach and the same to Portsalon beach which is a must do if staying here. Could have drove it in less time but where happy to take it easy and soak up the lovey views. We also drove to Kerrykeel for a lovely seafood meal in Ripples. That's also a must if you like seafood. The house was clean, beds very comfortable and such lovely hospitality from Kathleen who had provided milk, sweetbread, butter, marshmallows, tea, coffee, toilet roll and a few other bits for us arriving. There is also a very useful information book to help steer you in the right direction for places to see and go. We added some Chinese menus from Milford to it to help others, maybe you could do the same. Had the privilege of meeting some of Kathleen's other family members and must say they are extremely friendly people. Thank you Kathleen for allowing us to stay and for being at the end of the phone for us anytime we needed to call. Loved every second and already looking to book again if your happy to have us. Beautiful place, lovely memories and a brilliant base to explore from. Hope to see you again soon x.

The location was perfect, the views magnificent and the cottage was fabulous. Everything you could need for a perfect break was included. Would heartily recommend.

“A family Getaway”
We booked the Tailor's Cottage for my 50th birthday. It was just bliss! Very peaceful. Our family were welcomed by Kathleen who had put her loving touches around the home. Flowers in the hallway, butter, milk, pure orange in fridge. It had everything there that we needed. Bedding immaculate. We played footgolf, had meals out in Portsalon, The Singing Pub, and Downings Bay Hotel. We visited Downings Beach, and I even went for a dip in Portsalon only for a few minutes though. The fire at the cottage was fab, well stocked and Kathleen had it all ready upon arrival. We star gazed at night out in the patio too. Just such a homely place to recharge and reconnect. Even Martha our dog loved it. We also had great weather on our side. Thank you Kathleen for all your hard work. We loved it.

“Great views.”
The cottage was clean,warm and has great views, we really enjoyed our stay and will hopefully return next year. The owners directions to the cottage were easy to follow and understand. Some great beaches not far from the cottage for anyone who likes a good walk.

“Donegal at its best.”
We had the best time in Kathleens cottage. Set in the most beautiful scenery, the tailors cottage was steeped in history. Kathleen anticipated our every need with a fire set for our arrival with plenty of turf, croissants, butter and jam and beautiful fresh flowers. Everything was perfect. Comfortable night sleep in perfect silence. I couldn’t recommend this cottage enough.

“Perfect base”
We stayed here on our 1st trip to donegal. Always went abroad and now cannot get over the beauty. The cottage is perfect cozy cottage to return to after your daily adventure.has everything you need. Games room great wee touch most days the kids wanted back to the cottage ha ha.. Literally 10-15 min drive to downings portsalon any direction, will be back. Loved it and miss it already.
