Description

Glebe Cottage is a holiday cottage in the old stable wing of Carrowkeel Glebe house, a Georgian rectory on Fanad, Co. Donegal.

Fanad is a spectacular part of Co. Donegal, and Glebe Cottage is perfectly situated on the Mulroy Bay side to explore its beaches and more.

Glebe Cottage has been recently refurbished and has a modern kitchen / diner / family room, with peat/wood-burning stove. It also has a separate utility room and downstairs WC.

The living room has a sofa and 2 armchairs. The dining table extends and can seat 8.

There is a satellite TV and broadband service, with wifi. (A limited data download in included in the rental, but more data can be purchased.)

The kitchen has all appliances including a Neff fan oven, ceramic hob, microwave, extractor fan, and integrated fullsize dishwasher. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer and second sink in the utility room.

The garden and patio are south facing and next to the old walled garden (currently used as a field with sheep). Dogs are welcome.

Getting around

Unless you are a dedicated cyclist, you will want a car; there isn't many options for public transport to get around. But Glebe Cottage is on the west of Fanad peninsula so it is quick to cross to Downings using the bridge so is an ideal location for exploring all there is to do and see in this part of Donegal.

Interaction with guest

During August, my family and friends will be staying in the main house. Outside those times, you may have the place to yourself. The cottage and cottage garden are entirely self contained.

House rules

Use of the top bunk bed is at parents own risk, and is for children who are aged 5 or over. A baby cot is available also. Maximum number of overnight guests is 8 and maximum number of visitors at any time is 12. Dogs allowed but downstairs only and not on beds. No cats or other pets.
