Description

La Charente is a 2 bedroom gite with 1 double room (king sized bed) and 1 twin room. The bedrooms have wooden flooring and Charentaise stone walls to give the gite plenty of character. The ground floor is open plan with a lounge area & kitchen/dining area. There is a television/DVD player, CD player (where you can access BBC/ITV channels). Internet access is available in each gite. The kitchen has a full sized cooker, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle and crockery/cutlery - we also provide an iron/ironing board & hairdryer. Outside your gite you will find a garden table/chairs and a BBQ for your sole use. The heated pool is situated in this courtyard area. We have 2 acres of walled grounds, with 2 courtyards entances. There are 2 gites in each of the courtyards providing you with ample space and an environment which is ideal for families or couples. The gardens provide a safe playing environment for children and a tranquil setting for a relaxing, peaceful holiday yet there is plenty to do in the area should you wish to.

Les Vieilles Ombres has 2 separate entrances, leading to the courtyards where the gites are located.. Surrounding the whole property is a wall making the gardens an ideal playing place for children. The grounds consist of a park type area where you will find lots of trees offering a welcome shade in the height of the summer. Closer to the pool and gites is where you will find the flowerbeds growing many types of plants and flowers including herbs which you are welcome to use. The HEATED salt water pool is gated and fenced for safety. The sun patio is located just at the side of the pool and we provide sun loungers & umbrellas. . Within the gardens there is a fenced trampoline and a combined swing/seesaw/slide for the children to enjoy.

We also have a hangar which is a sheltered area for all to enjoy should it get to warm for you. You will find a table tennis table and football table available for use in this area. . There is access to the local tennis court which is just a few minutes walk away - we can provide you with rackets/balls. We also have a selection of bikes available for you to use to explore the beautiful Charentaise countryside;

“What a wonderful holiday in wonderful surroundings”

We had the most fantastic holiday here! Safe surroundings for young children, spotlessly clean and nicely decorated accommodation plus the most helpful and friendly owners made our holiday perfect. If children are happy, then parents are happy and this is what Richard and Nicky's place offers. Huge amount of outside space for little ones to explore, lovely pool area (heated pool was great!) and an extra bonus for rainy days was the 'hanger' where children could play but stay dry. We all really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the place anytime.
