This charming Sarlat studio featuring exposed oak beams and honey coloured stone walls,provides very comfortable holiday accommodation with fully equipped kitchenette including electric hob and combination microwave. It retains all its rustic charm whilst providing all the modern conveniences.

Being just a stone's throw away from the Vezere and Dordogne valleys, it is also the perfect starting point for discovering world renowned prehistoric sites such as Lascaux II and Font de Gaume, not forgetting the world's largest prehistory museum at Les Eyzies and for exploring the breathtaking countryside of the Perigord Noir which is dotted with enchanting chateaux. The wine regions of Bergerac and Bordeaux are a short drive away with the Atlantic coast 3 hours away.

Getting around

Although there are plenty of things to do & see in Sarlat itself, it would be a great shame not to see the fantastic sights which are all within half an hour's drive so we do recommend a car or if you are energetic there are plenty of bike hire shops in the area.There are also small tour guide companies who can organise either pre-arranged trips or made to measure visits if you require. There are also taxi hire firms with English speaking drivers who will happily negotiate a price to take you to the surrounding villages etc.

Interaction with guest

All guests will be met on arrival by my husband or myself , they will be shown the appartment and how everything works and will then be told all about the area and the"must see"'s which normally takes about an hour unless they have already visited the area.Guests are given a welcome pack explaining everything we have talked about , with all our telephone numbers in case they should have any problems. We do not live onsite giving the guests their complete privacy, but we are only 3 minutes away so they can contact us at anytime and we will be on hand to sort out any queries. We also arrange their check-out time at this point(we try to be as flexible as possible depending on the arrival times of the incoming guests.)

Response from the owner I am sorry to hear that this lady thought our apartment merited only an average and would be grateful for her suggestions as to how in her opinion,we could improve as all my other guests have been delighted with the location, cleanliness and comfort provided. I know that this lady's husband is very tall but I think we should be precise about the height of the beams. There is one beam which separates the living area and kitchen which is 1.77m but all the others (approx. 8) in the living/bedroom area are 1.92m+
