Description
The farm house Sor Giulio, is situated in the heart of Sabina. Located at the foot of Mount Carpignano and largest complex of mountains of Elci, offers a beautiful panorama of the sabine hills. Immersed in the silence and tranquility of the countryside, with an extension of about 8 hectares where you can find orchards, olive trees, fields planted with wheat and a pleasant garden where to admire the sunset and spend the evening with friends and a good glass of wine.
The structure is an ancient farmhouse of the ' 900 surrounded by greenery has been recently refurbished and offers spacious, typical of rural farmhouses of yesteryear where families were periodically to maintain jobs in the country (called sharecroppers).
In the vicinity you can visit numerous cultural sights such as the splendid medieval village of Farfa with its Benedictine Abbey, Historic centers such as Fara Sabina with the famous convent of the Poor Clares, the town of Casaprota, Toffia, Bocchignano, Montopoli and Poggio MIrteto where in summer there are numerous events.
In part of Roman Sabina suggestive is the castle in Nerola, Montelibretti and Moricone.
To visit the olive tree in Europe which is only 1 km, located in Canneto, The olive oil Museum in Castelnuovo di Farfa.
Even archaeologically interesting are the remains of the town of Cures via Salaria vecchia. the remains of pre Roman fortifications the people members of sabino on Mount Carpignano, the ancient via Salaria, so called because once used mainly to transport salt from the Adriatic Sea to Rome, remains you can find in and around Osteria Nuova. famous also known as Ponte del diavolo (stretch of road from the old Roman road).
There are many routes of natural interest, such as Fosso Farfa course where the grey heron settles down to crystal clear waters, or Winery close to mountain, the highest of the monti sabini.
