Description
A modernised fisherman's cottage situated in the Downalong, the oldest residential part of St.Ives. Refurbished in 2024, this cosy 2 bedroom cottage is ideally situated in a quiet street but right in the heart of the town, with its quaint cobbled streets, art galleries (including the Tate Gallery), restaurants and shops. All St.Ives' beautiful sandy beaches with water sports schools and award winning cafes are a short stroll from the cottage, as is the busy harbour, where fishermen still land their daily catch, and boat rides are available to see the seals or to try your hand at fishing. The two nearest beaches are Bamaluz and Porthgwidden which are both only one minute's walk away. There its also a local grocery store less than five minute's walk away which has an excellent range of provisions.
Trewartha is an ideal choice for a family holiday or a break away for couples, and well behaved dogs are welcome to stay too so they can also enjoy the fantastic walks on the beaches and the coastal paths (and being with you of course!)
The cottage is well equipped for your comfort. Downstairs is the lounge with 2 large sofas, TV, DVD and CD/radio. The open plan Kitchen/diner has an electric cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave and washer/drier. There is a dining table with seating for 4 people. The modern bathroom includes a bath with shower over, wash basin and wc, as well as a heated towel rail.
The stairs to the next floor are quite steep. There are two bedrooms upstairs. The main bedroom has a double bed with memory foam mattress. The second has two single beds. Both bedrooms have their own washbasins, wardrobes and chest of drawers.
The property is heated with thermostatic electric radiators
Bed linen is provided, but you need to bring your own towels. If you prefer I can arrange towel hire for you, please ask
If you bring a pet you will need to bring it's own bedding which should be kept downstairs.
Changeover is on Saturdays. Check in after 3pm, check out before 10am
If you come by car, The Island Car Park is just a minute's walk away, although you can drop off your bags at the cottage before parking.

**The location is by far the best part of Trewartha. Just minutes away from beaches, dining, and all things St. Ives has to offer. The place itself is very cozy and has all the amenities you need. We stayed here for two weeks and loved it. We had our 17 month old and the beaches and parks that were minutes away were a big hit with him. It’s also close to main street with shopping and even more great dining options. Definitely recommend staying here. Sarah was an amazing host and responded to our needs right away **

Great comfy cottage with a 3 minute walk to the both Porthmeor beach and Porthgwidden. The beds were comfier than the ones at home and we all slept like babies. All the amenities you need. We would definitely stay again and would highly recommend.

“Execellent location”
