“Keepers Cottage”

Reviewed 17 Aug 2021

Had a lovely relaxing mini break, the cottage could do with some tlc especially the bathroom, was really damp and smelt, toilet wouldn't stop flushing and we couldn't get the temparature of shower right, either to hot or to cold, the decking needs a bit of tlc as well, wouldn't say it was worth £100 a night, also dark inside, would go back but would stay in one of the other cabins

“Wooden spacious lodge in secluded countryside, with easy access to a beach.”

Reviewed 5 Nov 2020

Very peaceful with trees, ponds and clear starry skies. Nearby fishing. Short drive to a quiet beach. Nearby fish and chip shops. Clean and tidy. Kitchen utensils provided along with a dishwasher. Warm, comfortable lounge area. The boiler sometimes goes out but is easily reignited. Accessed by a short flight of metal steps. Missing light in back bedroom and wobbly toilet seat. Limited phone reception. A good place to escape to write that novel! We enjoyed our stay and would visit again.

We stayed in Keepers cabin for a week in August. It was a wonderful place to stay in. The landlady was very friendly and helpful. The cabin had everything you need for holidays, even a dishwasher:) outside there was a spectacular views and some hungry birds which we had to feed every day, it was an entertainment for our daughter :) we will be coming back definitely and suggested to all our friends to come and stay in this peaceful place with woodland and lakes full of forest creatures.Thank you for a brilliant holiday :)

“Quiet with a beautiful outlook.”

Reviewed 15 Aug 2017

Cabin needs a bit of TLC, a bit tired looking but saying that they have everything you need including plenty of bedding and a dishwasher. It's a shame that the fishing lakes are not better looked after but the views from the veranda are spectacular. Wildlife in abundance watching the baby buzzards fledge was an awe inspiring experience. Swallows, pheasants, hand tame robins and bats added to the overall charm of the place. The owners were friendly and welcoming and always available if needed. The beach is within walking distance and has a bar and bistro for an evening out. The nearest town of Looe is about 5 miles away and has a large car park, it's a gorgeous place to walk around and watch the trawlers coming in and out, lit up at night adds to the atmosphere. Lovely place to stay.

“Excellent, can't wait to go back, booking for next year.”

Reviewed 14 Nov 2016

Booked for 2 weeks and stayed for 4! Stayed in 2 of the lodges, both with lovely views, all the amenities you need and cosy and warm for chilly evenings. I needed peace, relaxation and my man wanted fishing nearby so we had the perfect setting. The far lake on site had some huge carp in it and just half a mile down the lane there is a beach with a jetty, ideal for fishing! He caught Bass,Gurnard,Wrasse,Eels,Pollack, very happy fisherman. There is a small bistro at the beach too! The setting at the lodges is idyllic,so peaceful with nature all around you.Could have sat on the porch all day.Horses grazing on the big green hill, trees all around you, robins, blue tits, pheasants, dragonflies and more just on your front door.It was a perfect slice of heaven for us both. Great base for many days out too! Looe is a 4 mile drive one way and Seaton 5 miles the other way, just to name 2 beautiful places to visit. If you need any information or help then Norma and Percy(the owners)are close by. Best holiday we have ever had, perfect.
