Description from owner

Description

Your own cosy, bright and warm apartment set on 1.4 acres of mature gardens. Self catering or B&B in beautiful gardens in our lovely village of Mount Temple. We are just 4km from Moate, 11km from Athlone, just off the M7.

The loft has a unique eclectic and rustic charm with lots of personal touches. It is NOT a new Ikea clad space. There is comfortable 5ft bed and a camp bed for 1 more. There is a fully kitted out kitchen with fridge, cooker, hob, washing machine, microwave, cooking condiments from olive oil, herbs and a wide range of teas and coffee. Toiletries, hair dryers, irons and towels are also provided.

WiFi but NO TV. We have 2 lovely dogs / pet welcoming. We have bikes for use on the gorgeous greenway cycle path. We have bikes to use (with a little notice) for the Old Rail Trail Greenway Cycle path.

Our garden is wonderful for relaxing in and we would love you to enjoy it too. There is a also a lovely al fresco dining area and we have swings and a slide for the kids to enjoy as well.

Mt Temple is a beautiful little well kept village with a bar, restaurant, shop, church, an impressive 18 hole golf course & a driving range. (We have golf sticks, in all sizes if needed) Our home is 10min walk to all of these.

5 mins drive away, there is a lovely 30min walk along the bog and through the woods where i bring my dogs everyday.

The Old Rail Trail ..Mulingar to Athlone Greenway

This is a ‘must’ cycle for anyone who likes getting out on their bike. Start at one of the many entry points (the nearest is 3kms) and for the next 40km you’re in biking heaven. This is a dedicated cycle path that follows the old rail track under arched bridges, through a tunnel and past beautiful countryside all the way to Athlone. With lots of entry and exit points, you can hop on and off to explore the villages and attractions along the way.

Athlone is a picturesque town on the banks of the River Shannon .. Athlone castle is 900yrs old and has a great interactive museum which is definitely worth a visit, as is the free art Gallery. Luan Gallery opened up in 2013 overlooking the river and showcases some great Irish and local art.

The charming left bank area has some great restaurant ( many of which we can recommend) and pubs with lots of live traditional Irish music and Ireland's oldest bar, Seans.
