Description
Villa Edith provides truly gorgeous accommodation and the perfect setting to relax and unwind with family or friends. Swim, sunworship, sleep and enjoy your favourite pastimes. Private swimming pool with travertine stone surround, secluded pool shower, loungers and shady sitting areas offer lots of opportunity to slip into holiday mode. Inside, beautiful, large comfortable bedrooms and private bathrooms, a wonderful working kitchen with great facilities for as much action that comes its way, a charming dining room for 10 and a large, airy living area with herringbone parquet floor provide lots of style and space in this well designed house giving guests lots of privacy and wonderful areas where everyone can come together and share great holiday times together.
Two dining areas give you the choice of eating inside or al fresco. A covered terrace with table and chairs in addition to seating under the shade of the trees, make great spots for eating, drinking and snoozing.
A large sun deck with loungers and shades surround an alarmed 9m x 5m swimming pool. For children there is a huge, clean sandpit with sand toys, climbing frame, trampoline, slide and swings, all placed discreetly. The gardens have a variety of trees with a mixture of fruit trees that make for delightful exploring.
Local fetes and festivities are abundant throughout summer from weekly day and night markets, jazz events and classical concerts to the spectacular medieval re-enactment at Castillion- la -Bataille set high in the grounds of a beautiful chateau culminating in an enormous firework display.
If you want to eat out you are spoilt for choice, there are many fabulous restaurants within a 10 minute drive and Juillac has it's own Belverdere restaurant with views to die for only 2 minutes away. Villa Edith is surrounded by highly acclaimed vineyards that open their doors throughout the summer making wine tasting readily available.

“A beautiful home from home”
Three young children (boys, 11 and 9, girl, 4), two grandparents and mum & dad (ages not to be disclosed) loved Villa Edith. Deanna and her family looked after us wonderfully - always there and responsive when we needed anything, or were even more clueless than usual. The house is beautifully decorated and is really well appointed (modern equipment and functionality where it is needed, charming rustic French where it is wanted). The swimming pool was an oasis in the baking heat of a Dordogne summer (take care of alarm system which faintly senile adults tend to forget). We had a fantastic holiday, completely relaxed (meaning nothing went wrong which is unusual) and deeply comfortable. The one thing I would have changed? Air con (or mobile cooler systems) in the bedrooms. We will be back soon.

“A love letter to Villa Edith”
Villa Edith, I must admit I was sceptical as to how you would accomodate a group of 12 young professionals. How dare I? You stole my heart from the moment I saw your large, renovated frame. The simple drive from Bordeaux was instantly forgotten when we reached you. Your rustic yet modern delight, the acres of peaceful vineyards surrounding you like sea to a desert island. Edith, they say it's the inside that counts and I truly believe that. When I entered your doors I wandered around for many moments, wide-eyed and excited. How have I found myself somewhere so beautiful inside and out, so comforting, so reasonably priced? After visiting all of your bedrooms I went into your kitchen – a tremendously welcoming place. Little did I know my laziness meant I would be spending a small amount of time here. All of this splendidness would have been enough for me Edith. You had me at chateaux. But then I was passed a refreshing beverage and pointed towards your garden. The sun was shining, giving your pool the mirage-like appearance of molten emeralds. I took a seat next to it and leaned back. To my surprise the seat flew back and I spilt my beverage. Don't worry dear Edith, I'll forgive you. After a moment of practice I was a master recliner. From the seat at the edge of the pool, I took it all in, soaked it all up and wished I had my sunglasses. You are so much more than I thought you would be. After one of the best weeks of my life I found myself doing the same thing, sitting poolside but this time with sufficient eye protection. I was even more in love with you. Edith you are as close to perfection as a villa could be and I hope to see you again one day. I don't know how I will find anything else like you. Yours longingly, Lewis
