“Second visit – and can’T wait for the third!!”

Reviewed 16 Jun 2013

Antigua's Yepton Estate Cottages is our Little Paradise - It is the best place to chill out after enjoying a lazy day at one of antigua's amazing beaches, or an active day taking advantage of the many fun things to do. Gabie and Douglas are very hospitable and assist you with anything you want or need. The cottages are super comfortable and clean and they are fully equipped for self-catering, including a BBQ on the covered porch. Free Wifi, Cable TV, a DVD player and free movies keep you entertained and in touch with the world. And then there is the proximity to nature - an abundant tropical garden, lots of birds, a lake jumping with fish, all of which you can take in while rocking in your hammock or lounging by the pool. And all this within a short walk from a lovely sand beach. It's a private and peaceful oasis - we'll be back!

“Fantastic time at Yepton Estate cottages!!”

Reviewed 14 Mar 2013

Just returned from two wonderful weeks at Yepton Estate Cottages. (Feb. 22 - March 9, 2013.) We were overwhelmed with the hospitality that Gabbie and Doug showed us. They went out of their way to make sure our vacation was one to be remembered. Doug's knowledge of the island helped us find with ease the best beaches, resturants and places of interest. A rental car is a must if you want to explore this beautiful Island. Gabbie's attention to detail provided 5 star accomodations. The cottages and grounds are top notch with all the amenities you would expect at a five star resort. If you are planning a trip to antigua we would highly recommend making Yepton Estate Cottages your home away from home.

“Excellent accomdation with superb hosts - just what we were look”

Reviewed 10 Dec 2012

This accommodation was excellent and just what we were looking for. We had researched many of the larger hotel resort type complexes on lots of different Islands across the Caribbean but preferred something more personal and less crowded and that exactly what we got with Gabby and Douglas at Yepton Cottages. Our cottage was very comfortable with a nice kitchen and living room area and an excellent veranda overlooking the lake. You could hear the sound of the sea from here and see the palm trees that indicated the back of the beach (less than a 5 minute walk away). This was an excellent place to start the day with breakfast outside. The only downside to the accommodation was the mosquitoes that would gather by the lights on our veranda once the sun went down. Obviously a certain level of mosquitoes is to be expected in the Caribbean but I think being by the lake made this worse at night. Gabby and Douglas were the perfect hosts - very helpful and incredibly welcoming. For instance on our first day in antigua Douglas spent a long time giving us some excellent advice on where to visit and what to see. And then Gabby drove us into town so we could do our food shopping for the week and even gave us the free use of a mobile phone for week. This sort of personalised treatment made us feel more like one of the family than a paying guest. Overall, I would definitely recommend Yepton Cottages, especially if you're looking for a holiday in the Caribbean without having to go down the all-inclusive, package holiday type experience. The accommodation is very comfortable, clean, reasonably priced and with excellent hosts. We had a great week and were very sad to leave!

“Relaxing family holiday in a nature lovers location with wonderf”

Reviewed 17 Jun 2012

We chose a cottage in antigua as we wanted a place for ourselves & our 20 month old toddler. On arrival we were met at the airport by our hospitable host along with a child's car seat. It was additional extra touches such as this throughout our stay that made Doug & Gabby such good hosts. The self catering cottages had everything you needed & the large gas barbie on the veranda overlooking the lake made cooking a pleasure not a chore. We made friends with two tame finches who along with the pelicans, humming birds, egrets & cranes to name but a few kept the whole family entertained for hours. Our cottage overlooked a lake on the other side of which was the beach & sea accessible within a 5 minute walk. On the days our son didnt fancy the waves in the sea he had plenty of fun splasing in the shared pool by the villa. The island was small enough to cover within our 10 day stay by hire car so we were able to see all the major sites which Doug mapped out for us. All in all a wonderful time, highly recommended.

“Return to Paradise”

Reviewed 15 May 2012

We have never returned to stay in the same place twice, but Yepton Estate is so special we just wanted to go back again and we are likely to do so again in the future. Gabby and Douglas are fantastic hosts and really understand what clients are seeking. The cottages are freshly painted each year and are immaculately maintained, comfortably furnished and the kitchen we'll equipped. We normally stay at 5 star hotels but the simple cottage provides a home from home but in the paradise of antigua. Everything we need for a quiet self catering holiday is provided (beach chairs, cooler box, deck hammock, BBQ, local mobile phone, reservations at restaurants through Gabby's referral). The location is perfect, central to the islands best beaches on the west coast, with a 5 minute walk through grounds to a perfect Caribbean beach. Access to the property is hidden and secure as you have to pass Gabby and Douglas home. This is simply the best self catering accommodation on antigua. Small is beautiful and Yepton's five cottages are the most beautiful of all.

“Well positioned, well equipped, so welcoming!!”

Reviewed 9 May 2012

We enjoyed a fabulous week in the one bed cottage on Yepton Estate. The cottages are arranged on the edge of a salt lake just inland from the beach which is accessible via 5 min walk thru local hotel. The lake is teaming with bird life and, if you don't discourage the finches so are the cottages! Its a great place to cook with local produce from the huge supermarket or fresh produce markets in St. Johns. Kitchen and barbecue grill is so well equipped (also cable TV and Wifi). Car hire for some of your stay is a must. What really differentiates this accommodtion is Gabby and Douglas who are fantastic hosts. Taking time to explain the maps, the best opportunities for beaches, food days out etc etc. The nicest touch of all is taking you to the supermarket on Day 1 so you can acclimatise to the interesting local driving before taking the plunge in your hire car. Thank you for making our stay so special.

“Baby-mooning in antigua!”

Reviewed 8 May 2012

In deciding to go to antigua--we wanted to make sure that we got to see the island and not just a resort. We began looking at vacation rentals and found the beautiful self-catering cottages of Yepton Estates. When I orginally found Yepton Estates and read the incredible reviews, I first thought it must be too good to be true! Trusting the reviews, we booked our stay. Gabby, the owner, was very useful as we prepared for our trip--answering any questions I had about the island or the accomodations. In arriving at Yepton Estates (a short drive from the airport by taxi--approx $20), Gabby and Douglas were warm and welcoming with a cold drink. They showed us around the cottage (a 1 bedroom) and drove us to the local supermarket where all the food was safe for me to eat during pregnancy. They assured us that we could call them at any time (from the cell phone they provides us) for any reason. The cottage and surrounding area was beautifully kept, with a great view of a lake and the not-too-far ocean. Douglas' knowledge of the island and road systems was invaluable to our navigating the island in our car rental. A car rental is the best way to see the great beaches and sites antigua has to offer. If you want to see the island and enjoy amazing beaches, having the ability to come and go as you please--do yourself a favor and stay at Yepton Estates. The lovely owners will take care of you like family while giving you space to enjoy your private getaway. They will take care of your car rental booking, restaurant reservations, and taxi bookings, anything you need. All you have to do is relax and enjoy the island! Yepton Estates earns and deserves every good rating they receive and you won't be disappointed to spend your vacation at this incredible location!

“Tranquil oasis for people who avoid crowds and like individal at”

We dilike 'resort hotels' and prefer smaller places preferrably run by people with passionate interest in providing good service, judging by reviews this small group of cottages fitted the bill. We were not disappointed! The well equiped clean accomadation had everything for a comfrotable holiday and the Gabriela and Douglas were attentive and helpful without being intrusive. The salt water lake had interesting birds for my girlfriend to observe as it is an interest of hers.

“A wonderful honeymoon getaway”

Reviewed 15 Apr 2012

Our hosts Gabriela and Douglas were superb! Soon after our arrival they drove us to the best supermarket, they gave us a detailed review of where to go, what to do and where to eat and provided us even with a local mobile phone for easy communication. The cottage was very comfortable and exceptionally well equipped with your own gas grill, microwave, toaster, blender and anything else you might need. The cottage is at a lake, and there is a very nice beach within 5 min walk and another within 10-15 min walk. To get around and see the island you need to either get a rental car, use the public transport or hire a taxi - which we did and we can highly recommend Captain Spencer. He gave us a great tour of the island, is very knowledgeable and absolutely reliable. We can highly recommend Yepton Estates and hope to come back soon.

“Honeymoon”

Reviewed 15 Apr 2012

We truly enjoyed our stay at Yepton Estate Cottages and our time in antigua. It was so much more than we had expected. Gabriella and Douglas went out of their way to make us feel welcome! A glass of wine as we checked in and then on to the best supermarket in St. John to fill up our refrigerator. The next morning our rental car was brought to us and Gabriela also gave us a local cell phone to use during our stay for assistance and emergency use. Douglas sat down with us for an hour and a half and pointed out were to go on the island and how to drive there. All you need to know, they will tell you. We drove around and tried several beaches including the clothing optional beach at Hawksbill. Several beaches we had all to ourselves and it was very romantic. Twice we drove to Spring Hill Riding club for wonderful horseback riding, galloping on a deserted beach and for swimming with the horses. The temperature was great combined with a nice breeze. We enjoyed our breakfast in the morning on our deck watching the sun rise listening to all the birds and the tropical sounds around us. But watch out, there is a small bird family who loves to eat breakfast with you each morning, if you let them. Very funny and charming and they do not bother you. Restaurants to recommend are Sheer Rocks were you enjoy your meal and watch the sun set. Catherines in Nelson Dockyard was excellent!! If you are looking for a romantic, quiet place were you can enjoy each other, this is it! Yet if you want more "action" it is not far away and you can escape back to your own bungalow and peace and quiet. We really enjoyed having our own schedule! Thank you so much for making our stay such a memorable one!
