Saint Philips house

“Awesome” It's not often that one finds a place to call home and Cupid's Home is a home away from home. It was a vacation like I've never experience before. Everything was spotless. The condo was very self-contained to all my needs, and Mr. Cupid was most pleasant and accommodating. I also enjoyed the bonus of the vehicle he offers with the package, meaning no transportation issues, and the location was approximately 7mins away from any point of interest I wished to visit. I highly recommend staying at Cupid's Home, for an enjoyable and most relaxing vacation.

Tropical Romantic Hideaway Cottage in Antigua

St. John's house

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 3

“Lovely cottage in a peaceful neighborhood” I've been traveling to antigua for the past 6 years and this cottage is one of the most peaceful places I've stayed. The cottage is adjacent to Sarah and John's home and surrounded by a beautiful tropical garden. The property is in a safe residential neighborhood about 3 minutes from antigua's kite-surfing beach. Sarah and John are incredibly generous and kind and make you feel at home. It's a simple cottage that has everything you need - and if you need anything else (like a rental car or restaurant suggestion) Sarah is there to help. I've stayed here multiple times already and highly recommend it. It's absolutely my favorite place to stay in antigua.

“Our visit Friars Hill Cottage” Very clean and well maintained. Great having landlord next door if assistance is required (propane was used up during a meal and they changed it immediately). Very friendly and hospitable to deal with. Good location. Easy access to grocery stores and beaches. Second time staying here and would do so again. Highly recommend.

“gorgeous hillside guesthouse, interesting & thoughtful hosts” Karol and Merv Stewart make this a special place, from the lovely guesthouse to helping with tours & advice. I don't mind the flowers, lizards & hummingbirds, and dview of Montserrat either. One morning Merv walked through the yard picking limes, mangos and soursop for me. It's about 4/10 of a mile to the main road, where you can catch a bus every few minutes to the supermarket, casino, marina etc. in Jolly Harbour-- or just walk a mile to get there. 4 beaches within a mile and a half, with restaurants at a couple of the beaches. If you like birds, they got plenty at the salt pond just landward of Darkwood beach.

Hibiscus Retreat - 2 Cottages in beautiful tropical garden

Saint John Parish villa

3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 8

“Perfect week in the sunshine” This villa is located north of the island in a quiet residential area 5 minute drive away from St John's, airport is not far, golf course is around the corner and you have 365 beaches waiting for you, in general nothing seems that far on the island. Villa is surrounded by a lush, blooming garden and the crystal clear pool saves you on a hot sunny day, there is a outdoor showher, too. Both houses come with a full kitchen, bed linen, towels all the basics including TV, landline and wifi. Ps wifi does not work in the cottage. It's all very clean and if there's any problems they get solved fast after a phone call tho don't forget you are in Caribbean not in a city and sometimes things can be on a slow side. It was a great base to explore this wonderful island and I would definitely go back

About Antigua

The Caribbean nation of Antigua and Barbuda is actually made of up of three islands: Antigua, Barbuda and Redonda. Antigua is the most heavily visited of the nation's islands, and it is where most of the development and tourism infrastructure has been built. Barbuda is sparsely inhabited, offering miles and miles of unspoiled, pristine beaches that are perfect for those looking to escape the hubbub and crowds of Antigua. Redonda is a small, uninhabited island filled with natural beauty, which you can tour by boat.

Some of the major attractions in Antigua and Barbuda include:

  • St. John's: The nation's capital city has a vibrant, welcoming island vibe, excellent restaurants and exciting nightlife. It's also a fascinating destination in its own right, and taking a tour of its historical sites and curiosities is an eye-opening way to spend a day. If you're looking for Antigua spas, St. John's is an excellent place to begin your search.
  • Half Moon Bay: This pink sand beach is considered one of the most beautiful in the country, dotted with rocky cliffs, lush palm trees, and crashing blue waves. This is the ideal setting for an Antigua wedding or honeymoon.
  • Devil's Bridge: A natural landmark of a breed you won't find anywhere else, Devil's Bridge consists of sprawling arches of limestone. It is located on the east cost of the island of Antigua.
  • Nelson's Dockyard National Park: This historic preserve overlooks the eastern dockyards of Antigua and is home to Shirley Heights, a community of fortifications dating back to the nation's colonial era. This area is a common embarking point for Antigua sailing excursions.
  • Stingray City: One of the nation's most intriguing nature preserves, Stingray City is named for the sea creatures that populate its placid waters and offers an up-close look at the tropical wildlife that abounds in the islands.

Accommodations in Antigua and Barbuda are plentiful, but for the most relaxing and enjoyable visit, consider a vacation rental. Offering you more room and privacy than you'd get at a hotel, and often for a lower price, beach villas, condos and rental homes are perfect for couples, families and group vacations to this charming Caribbean nation.

You can go island-hopping fairly easily from Antigua and Barbuda. Flying or cruising by sea to destinations like Puerto Rico, St. Kitts and Nevis, and nearby Guadeloupe is both easy and affordable.

Holiday Home Belvedere - Megan apartment
Antigua trip

Lovely apartment, located in a quiet area - nestled on a hillside.. Stunning views overlooking the sea.. As the building is new - our apartment was, clean, light and airy. My friends and I stayed for 11days, & used it as a base while we toured around. And, it was a welcome sight after a full day touring There are 2 local restaurants nearby (5mins walking distance) the local supermarket is a 10min walk, & Dickenson Bay approximately 20-25mins walk. All our basic needs were catered for..& our host was very amenable, & accommodating.. She made us feel very welcome, & nothing was too much to ask for.. My friends and I felt very safe & comfortable there, & would recommend it to others.see more

A sweet retreat near the beach, super market and main shopping area

This lovingly maintained guest home is a short drive to St. John, the super market and beach. It contains all the supplies one would need (dishes, utensils, towels, linens etc.). There are two bedrooms with excellent air conditioning, the bed is very comfortable. The living room has wi-fi and a small cable TV. The home is situated next to the owner and is gated. I cannot say enough about the owners, they make you feel like family, no request seems a bother. The grounds are beautiful with flowers and shrubs well maintained. I would recommend and stay here again.see more

Incredible Villa

What a great spot! Incredible value... other parts of the site were still under construction when we visited, but it has no impact on the quality of our experience in this particular villa and explains why you can get such an awesome house at such a great price. The views are epic. Top notch construction. Really high quality furniture and appliances. Kind and attentive staff. 2 minutes walk from 2 incredible beaches. 5 minutes from a really great beach club with fine foods and a great atmosphere. We truly had a great experience. I will be back.see more
Tamarind Hills, Beachfront Three Bedrooms B4
5 Star View, Function and Class!

Antigua can be breathtaking, romantic, exclusive and welcoming. But that all depends on whether or not you are looking through the Tamarind Hills Villas lens or not. If you are staying at Tamarind Hills you can expect a clean modern appeal fit for a Diva. And because I subscribe to the motto "Happy wife=Happy life" I booked our 8 night stay at Tamarind Hills. This was our second time staying at Tamarind Hills Villas. We stayed in Stingray Villa 04 last year for 10 nights. But this year we switched it up for it bit of Villa B5 and B4. I apologize if my pictures are from one or the other. But in all honesty, they are equal in elegance, style, and statement making. From the time you deplane at the airport in Antigua until you reach Tamarind Hills is about 30 mins (not because it is a long drive, but because it is a slower drive). Tamarind Hills will be happy to arrange an airport pickup if you like or you can call my go-to driver Vincent at (268)720-2435. He will meet you at the airport exit and zip you away in air conditioned style in a jiffy. He knows right where Tamarind Hills Villas are, as well as a few shortcuts in the event traffic isn't moving well. Tamarind Hills Villas are nestled between Ffryes Beach (a beautiful little stretch practically attached to the property) and Darkwood Beach. The architecture and buildings themselves you know are quite impressive when sail boat Captains on the Caribbean are pointing them out to their guests in awe as they sail by. Picture these beautiful glass encrusted villas built on the side of a mountain overlooking the Caribbean. Even cruise ship tour buses try to inconspicuously snap a photo of these eye catching villas from a distance. So you'll be wondering who really can afford to live in such luxury. And your first thought might be: "Is Oprah Winfrey, Robert DeNiro, or Kim Kardasian hiding out under some alias behind the tinted glass that makes up Tamarind Hills Villas. Then your mind wonders... Are the villas themselves as beautiful on the inside as they appear on the outside. And to that I am delighted to say with the voice of confidence: "YES!" Since we have stayed at 3 of the Villas I will say that you really can not make a bad choice here. There is Great, and than there is another version of Great. Lighted pathways make it an easy approach night or day. Multiple entrances also provide easy access. You can enter through the back door, a large sliding glass side door or two very large sliding glass front doors (all are lockable-not that you need be concerned since this is an ultra modern, ultra quiet, and ultra safe estate). But how deep does the rabbit hole go you're wondering. White marble floors invite your every footstep. Climate controlled air conditioning is present throughout so you can make your villa, perfectly welcoming. Modern luxury couches, television, cable, internet, microwave, stove top, oven, even large and beautiful stainless steel BBQ's (perfect for that Lobster or MahiMahi you caught while deep sea fishing earlier), Washer & Dryer, Ironing Board, Kettle, Toaster, etc. etc. etc. Just imagine a fully stocked kitchen and living room with everything you'll ever need including half of the things you never knew you might enjoy. Then add a little bit more. Yup! That describes it. But here's something you didn't know. A lot of properties in Antigua have the British style electrical outlets 220-240 Volts. What does that mean? Your North American hair dryer will burn-up with smoke before you dry your hair. But not at Tamarind Hills Villas. Those electrical outlets are the 110 Volt North American Standard outlets. That means you can recharge your iPhone & iPad (or whatever you have) with no problems. Bet you weren't thinking about that huh? Tamarind Hills Villas are clean, spacious modern, and sport the most beautiful view of the Caribbean from almost every room. Another note worthy feature is how they all have the ability to open up the entire living room to the outdoors (and the most spectacular view of the turquoise stunning Caribbean that you will ever see). Are you a first class Diva or married to one? Tamarind Hills Villas is for you then. This place just oozes luxury and ultra modern design. The staging is exceptional and like comb honey to the tongue of anyone deserving to escape in style. Ceiling fans with remote controls, a built in desk if you just can not completely unplug (though that may be challenging since Tamarind Hills Villas whisper sweet nothings of a tropical drink melting in your hand while you bask in your private spacious infinity pool where unobstructed views remind you that there is no other place on the island like this one). Switches illuminate the front outdoor areas including the pool, second floor wrap-around balcony and sitting areas, so that even it's nightly splendour can be on full display. White lightly hung fabric around the oversized glass doors out to the deck provide that whimsical ocean breeze and renaissance dreamt about by all sun-seekers. Up the stairs and you will find two equally beautifully clad large bedrooms. Each is equipped with a walk-in closet and a full bath. Modern vanities, backlit mirrors, and oversized shower heads are the norm. Plush oversized towels at the ready, and spa-inspired shampoo, conditioner & body wash like you would expect at those 5+ Star retreats usually reserved for the elite. You know the kind where if you have to ask the price you can't afford it. But this sort of first-class pampering is synonymous with a stay at Tamarind Hills Villas. Modern dressers, TV and night stands. Switches located close to the bed so that you can easily turn on/off the lights without even leaving your position in bed. And yes they even have his/her switches. In case one of you falls asleep before the other. The third floor is just as inviting. Rich rustic wood with huge copper tub fixture fit for several. Dual vanity sinks with soft-close double vertical drawers that are spacious enough for all your sundry items. And once again you can be greeted every morning (right from your bed) with arguably the most stunning views your eyes have ever seen. And in the evening you can watch the sun itself dip slowly into the ocean and perhaps even see the mysterious green blur that occurs right at the moment the sun disappears into the ocean horizon. It's quiet. It's private. It's exclusive. It is located on the breadth of one of the most beautiful beaches in Antigua (Ffryes Beach). Ffryes Beach is notable also for having a local resto called Dennis's located on one end of it with Tamarind Hills Villas on the other. This is perfect for a stroll and then ordering up that tropical drink I mentioned earlier. But, if fine dining is more up your alley, then you will want to make reservations at perhaps the best resto on the island called "Sheer Rocks". It is a stones-throw from Fryes Beach and Tamarind Hills Villas. And Chef Alex (the owner) or Head Chef Simon will remind you why it made sense to locate this positively delightful eatery in the vicinity of Tamarind Hills Villas. For reservations at "Sheer Rocks" call (268)562-4510. I have to warn you: Tamarind Hills Villas are a cut above. So it's not always good to hold the rest of the island up to these standards. But Sheer Rocks resto is a nice compliment where you won't be disappointed. What about groceries you ask. Located about a 5 min drive away is the Epicurean Grocery store in Jolly Harbour so you'll be able to get just about anything you might want or need there. In fact, they have more there than I can get at my local North American grocers. They have a huge wine selection, beers, and other alcoholic beverages on the chill. Want some Russian Caviar? No problem. They've got that. Craving some freshly baked pastries? No worries mon. They've got that. Want a rental car so you can explore the whole island? Give my friend Denley a call at (268)782-3811. He can fix you up. Or maybe you feel like bringing a pizza back to the villa. Then give Al Portos a try in Jolly Harbour which is 5 min drive away. Their number is (268)562-7848. Their pasta is also to die for. This is the most convenient pizza place to Tamarind Hills. Tamarind Hills Villas are so nice you may never want to leave. But you are located right in the heart of it. Close enough to indulge when you want, but far enough away that you can sleep peacefully at night. And if you really want to visit the beauty of Tamarind Hills then why not charter your own private Catamaran calls Cat Tales II. No, not the busy spring break like Catamarans. I'm talking as private and exclusive as anyone staying at Tamarind Hills Villas deserves. My friend Captain James will take you out on a sunset cruise for peanuts and bring you right in front of the beauty we refer to as Tamarind Hills Villas. His number is (268)771-8651. From Tamarind Hills Villas you can arrange Segway Tours of Runaway Bay, Helicopter excursions to the active volcanic island of Monserrat, Deep Sea Fishing, SeaDoo rental, Personal Dingy tours, Horseback riding and much more. But Tamarind Hills is also enroute to the island's biggest attraction (every Sunday night) called Shirley's Heights. Don't try to drive it though, it's better to take a cab. Reggae music, steel drums, dancing, and cocktails. This is what island life is all about. And if you don't go, you'll likely be the only one that didn't. It's the most fun you can have with your clothes on! But if you don't make it, just tell everyone you're staying at Tamarind Hills Villas. They know how beautiful it is, and that's about the only thing that would make sense as to why you missed Antigua's most amazing party night (good for all ages). You know the staff at Tamarind Hills are also great. Led by Rufus Gobat (the BIG cheese), the management (the recently acquired Pat), Neno the man with boots on the ground and his care-takers, the maids that will frequent your villa at your preferred frequency for laundry, dishes and more, and even security. They want you to have a wonderful stay, and it shows. Whatever you need, whenever you need it, just pick up the phone (it's in your villa and no place on the island is long distance :). The best way to describe Tamarind Hills Villas is by the tears you feel when it's time to go. You won't want to. How will you feel? Love it or leave it? LOVE, LOVE, LOVE baby!see more

Absolutely Amazing

Michael is the ideal Owner. He was very sweet in the months and weeks before my trip. He is prompt to respond to all inquiries and has great suggestions. He made sure to have everything that I needed upon arrival. He even arranged for my golf cart rental to be at the villa when I arrived. He is very kind and checks in from time to time without being overbearing. I loved my renting experience with Michael.see more
