“A welcome rest”

Reviewed 9 Dec 2016

My husband and brother in law recently stayed at Les Geais whilst renovating our French property in the village. Booking was easy as the owner Sue is very responsive , transaction was done from the UK.-- On arrival they were warmly greeted by Mo & Richard the care takers of the property , this couple are delightful, nothing was too much trouble for them -- Richard kept the menfolk entertained with his stories and anecdotes every evening on their return to the cottage- they looked forward to seeing him and were intrigued by his tales. The log burner would be lite, a warm cottage awaited them, the shower was hot and the beds were really comfy, the kitchen is well equipped , Mo made sure they had all essentials . There was difficulty getting a mobile signal from within the cottage but clever Mo told them were to stand outside to alleviate the problem. This cottage was a sanctuary to the menfolk after a busy day renovating, they would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of staying in the beautiful Correze region. They look forward to staying there on the next renovation trip.

“Damp!”

Response from the owner Unfortunately the stormy weather experienced before your arrival highlighted a problem with the roof which once discovered, was promptly repaired before the next guests came to stay (and any further rain could fall). The cottage was dried out and aired with no lasting effects. We do not advertise the property as having WiFi as there is no land-line. Most people seem able to pick up a 3G mobile signal in the area without too much trouble, although the cottage itself has thick granite walls and hi-tech layered insulation under the roof which can hinder reception indoors. Free WiFi is available in at least 2 locations in the village, one being at (or outside if closed) the Tourist Info office where they would also have been delighted to help with the latest local information and events taking place early in the summer. When WiFi was queried, several months after the initial reservation and around the time the final balance became due, I endeavoured to explain all this clearly so that you were not taken by surprise and could inform your family in good time. I'm sorry you didn't find what you were looking for at Les Geais.

“Everything you could need in real comfort”

Reviewed 21 Jun 2016

There were so many good things about this cottage but one of the best was the level of comfort. We had rotten weather but our accommodation was so comfortable that it felt like going home. the owners really have thought about everything in terms of fitting out. The shower was lovely and we had everything we needed for self-catering, really everything and more. The beds were really comfortable and the bedrooms light and airy. I honestly couldn't fault the place and would recommend it and the area to friends and family. There is no WIFI but that's really an issue for the area rather than the property. Fantastic stay, thank you Sue and Tim and thank you as well to Richard and Mo who look after the property and who are always at hand to offer information, advice and help.
