Description

A farm vacation suite in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia midway between Staunton and Lexington. The suite is located in the upper part of our home with a private entrance via the second floor porch. Our exceptional feature is the year-round sun room where you have a tree-top view of the farm, gardens, pond, distant mountains and at night the stars. The suite also includes an air-conditioned bedroom with antique queen bed and daybed, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, and private porch.

Enjoy the farm: walk through our woods, fields and wildlife habitat around spring fed streams and 2 ponds; go fishing or row boating on the larger pond (it's stocked with large mouth bass and the fishing is great!!) ; cook on the outdoor grill; help yourself to vegetables, fruit and berries in season; bring your field glasses and observe the wildlife; or just relax on the porch and take in the serenity of the country.

Enjoy nearby attractions: visit historic Lexington and Staunton; drive along the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway; hike nearby trails; attend a Shakespearean play at the Blackfriars Theatre.

There is so much to do in this area! In Lexington take a horse drawn carriage tour of the historic town, or attend events at the Virginia Horse Center. In Staunton take in a play at the American Shakespeare Center’s Blackfriars Theater, or visit the Frontier Culture Museum. Nearby, go for a tour and tasting at Rockbridge Vineyard, hike mountain trails, bike along picturesque country roads, go 'antiquing', or take a scenic drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway (just 15 minutes away). We have information, directions and maps in the suite for your use in planning your activities and we will be glad to help you in any other way we can.

“Excellent "headquarter" for exploring Shenandoah”

We stayed for a week and was very satisfied with both location and the room and its facilities. Their was always a nice place to sit outside and enjoy the landscape or read regardless of the weather - either on the lawn or on the porch. We were primarily interested in hiking in the surrounding mountains and visiting historic sites and for that it was a perfect "headquarter" for the week we stayed.
