Very Good

“Loreto Bay is a little sliver of paradise and Casa Illuminata was right in the center!”

Reviewed 23 Aug 2016

We had a wonderful stay in Loreto Bay -- traveled with a 4 1/2 and 13 year old and it couldn't have been easier. The house is really within a 3 min walk to the beach, to several pools and the community center. The house itself is great with a big indoor patio and spacious rooms. Very comfortable. We rented a car and went into town everyday for ice-cream and groceries. The town is really close and easy to get around. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. Felicia provided tons of information before our departure so we were able to organize our stay before leaving. The contact once in Loreto was also really helpful. The only thing I would tell people that I hadn't realized is that the master bedroom is upstairs with an access from the interior patio so if you are traveling with small children you might want to bring the monitor as you won't hear them from the bedroom. (our 13 year old was our monitor). Honestly, a great trip -- great location, great house and very friendly people. We will be back!

Response from the owner Thank you so much for the great review! The homemade ice pops next to Orlandos in town are the best....glad that you were able to take advantage of all the pools and the beach close by. I also appreciate the heads up on the upstairs for little children. An option would also be for the kids to stay in the downstairs master bedroom.

“Wonderful Vacation! Amazing home”

Reviewed 17 Nov 2014

What a beautiful home and a lovely neighborhood. I highly recommend hiring a car, there is a lot to see and do locally. We went into the town several times and enjoyed the local restaurants and shops. The highlight of our trip was renting a small boat with local fisherman for the day - he took us to Coronado Island where we snorkeled, beachcombed and sunbathed. A really wonderful experience that I highly recommend. The Loreto Bay community is very friendly, although it is an older crowd - 55+ but we had a fun time, being invited to several impromptu happy hours at local homes and enjoying an open mic night at the local wine bar!! A really wonderful vacation - I will be back again for sure!

Casa Illuminata was perfect. It was well equipped and comfortable. We had a great stay and enjoyed the quiet, laid back good time.

“3 months of heaven!”

Reviewed 5 Mar 2014

We are in our third month of staying in this beautiful villa in Loreto Bay. The location is great--walking distance to the grocery , wine cellar, all three restaurants, and the coffee shop. The villa has a very high end kitchen with stainless steel appliances and top quality cookware and accessories. The furniture and bedding are in excellent condition and very clean. The garden is well kept and affords a beautiful view from the living area. The deck has a great outdoor kitchen and furniture. The viewing tower shows a panorama of mountain views. The weather on the Baja is fabulous.

“Wonderful villa - great time in Loreto”

Reviewed 13 Dec 2013

We stayed at Felicia and Jon Brooks' villa in Loreto and it is such a lovely spacious place. We were accompanied by our friends and the four of us had plenty of space. The guest rooms are both very well appointed and we especially liked going up to the "tower" for coffee or drinks in the evening. Felicia is wonderful about telling you about all the best places to go in and around Loreto. The development where the Villa is located has 2 beautiful pools and there are kayaks and snorkling equipment available to rent just on the beach. The sea and the mountains make it a beautiful spot. It is very peaceful there - not too much going on at night - but that was fine with us. We bought fresh fish and used the stainless steel grill for several wonderful dinners outside on the patio. We stayed for a week but would like to return for a longer time there!

“Heaven on Earth!”

Just enjoyed an amazing week in Loreto, where the desert meets the sea! A 2 hour flight from la and a world away! Loreto is everything that Cabo is not: quiet, small, authentic (no Walmart, no fast food, one stop light). But even in off season we found lovely restaurants serving yummy, inexpensive meals, and lots of friendly, helpful people. The neighborhood where the house is located (Loreto Bay) is about 5 miles south of the town in one of the prettiest developments I have ever seen. Gorgeous adobe style villas centered around immaculately landscaped courtyards- every turn offered another charming vista. The Villa Encantada is in the middle of it all- 2 minutes walking to either of the pools and 3 minutes to the beach, the hotel next door, the golf course and some small shops and cafes. The house itself is beautifully decorated with all the conveniences of a 5 star hotel including WiFI and cable TV, but so much more charming. If you are considering the Loreto Bay Hotel next door, don't! This place is so much better and you have access to the hotel services anyway. The house's two bedrooms are both very private so ideal for 2 couples and with the 2 stories there is simply a lot of space to enjoy. The master suite includes an over sized tub and an outdoor shower- my favorites! Be sure to take a boat trip to the outlying islands (organized by Vive Loreto office in the Loreto Bay village); have a massage by Lili (also in LB Village) and have at least one meal prepared by local Chef Marisol, as recommended by owner. Both the owner and on-site manager (us ex-pat) were wonderful to work with and made me feel "at home" from the moment I booked. One of my best vacations ever! I am already planning my next visit!

Response from the owner Thank you Ruth, I am so glad you had such a great time and that our casa could be part of your birthday celebration!

“Pure Magic”

Reviewed 21 Aug 2013

For the second year in a row I stayed in Felicia and John's beautiful home in gorgeous Loreto, Mexico. For second year in a row I found myself wanting for absolutely nothing. Their home is comfortable and spacious, well decorated, with all the amenities one could ask for, and more. Most important is the Zen-like tranquility that catapults you into a relaxed, vacation state of mind as soon as you cross the threshold. Loreto has something to offer everyone and this property is the perfect place from which to explore this little slice of heaven. In addition, Felicia makes sure that you have all the key information you need to eat, drink and seek adventure in Loreto to your heart's content.

We look forward to making this trip many times. Thank you Felicia and Jon for sharing your wonderful casa. Al & Debbie Plano, Texas

“Beautiful house, exceeded my expectations!”

Reviewed 28 Jun 2013

My family and I had a great time and that we really enjoyed being in the house. It has everything we needed, it's super clean, the kitchen is well equiped, it's private, we loved it! The neighborhood is beautiful: the colors of the houses, the landscaping, the pools, everything! Everyone there is nice, respectful and helpful. We felt welcomed and very safe. Felicia and Jon are very good about answering emails, making sugestions and making you feel welcome.

“Terrific spot in Loreto”

Reviewed 11 Jun 2013

Everyone took great care of us. Great for three adults and a 4-yr-old.The house is spacious and well designed, well-equipped and convenient. Recommend a car for access to town for dining variety, but if you want to cook it's all set up. Lots of activities around or just veg out at the beach or pools.Golf course is excellent (according to a 0-handicap scratch player) and great value. Historic missions, fishing, snorkeling, adventures in the mountains or sea. Wi-fi and at&T; cell service was fine. It's really a beautiful house and community and extremely reasonable. Owners and on-site concierge were very responsive and helpful. A great alternative to the fleshpots of Cabo--laid back vacation choice that's low key but filled with opportunities for fun and adventure. Try it, you'll love it!
