“Excellent condo in a quiet resort”

Reviewed 8 Apr 2015

We visited La Paz over Spring Break to do some fishng and relaxing. We stayed in Unit E304 , a 3 bedroom, 4 bath condo with excellent pool and water views. Paraiso Del Mar is a very nice resort comprised of 5 different buildings, buildings A-E, each housing privately owned condos. The resort sits alone on a peninsula known as the El Mogote and requires a water taxi to transport you to and from the main strip of La Paz, known as the Malecon. The water taxi runs back and forth all day based on a published schedule and you can catch one every 30 minutes which we found to be very convenient and an excellent way to meet some of the friendly Ex-Pats staying/living there who were all willing to share information about local restaurants and things to do. The proprty is expansive and you will need to rent a golf cart or use their transport vans to take you to and from the water taxi and the condo buildings. We found the transport vans to be very prompt and responsive when needed and the drivers were great. A cell phone is even provided to call the transport vans when needed which is a nice touch. It is a very quiet resort on nearly 900 acres which was appealing to us as we did not have to deal with noisy neighbors. There is a very nice pool and spa and a pool side, outdoor restaurant with excellent food. They open around 1pm and serve lunch and dinner. When we arrived, one of the bedroom A/C units did not work which made for one hot night but it was fixed promptly the next day which was much appreciated. I travel often and some times there can be issues with your accomodations which is completely understandable. The way they promptly responded to the A/C issue was telling in how focused Chelle and her Property Managers are on customer service so kudos to them! We would definately stay here again!

“Exceeded my expectations!”

What a beautiful vacation rental. We enjoyed everything about Paraiso del Mar, from the ease of booking with Chelle, to the luxurious condo, to the amazing beach, ocean view, lovely pool. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Alissia was very helpful in arranging fishing excursions, the chef cooked us delcious meals with the fish we caught! La paz has many very good restaurants and shopping. We are definitely planning to vacation here again!

“10 days in paradise!”

The location can't be beat! The condo is fabulous (clean and luxurious). The view from the balcony (beach and pool area) is spectacular! The pool bar (drinks and food) is a must visit!! I would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

“Fabulous”

We have visited many different cities in Mexico, but I have to say, our stay in La Paz was an outstanding one. The condo we stayed in was nicely decorated and all the necessities one would need. Lots of towels, dishes, beach towels, etc. Everyone there was friendly and more than willing to help if you needed it. Highly recommend it, but be aware there is no Satellite TV. That was the only draw back, but there is so much to see and do that it did not matter.

“Over the top comfortable and beautiful”

Our holiday could not have been more divine. Literally everything, was just perfect starting, with booking with Chelle who gave us all the advice and guidance we needed for the perfect vacation. The unit had everything we could have wanted and more. So comfortable. Clean. Tasteful and cozy decor, two balconies, privacy, quiet, soft linens, great pots, pans and sharp knives, coffee pot, blender, all the little things that make being in a rented kitchen feel like you are at home. Awesome double filtered water too! The view was the best in the whole resort we are convinced. The weather could not have been better. After going into La Paz a few times we decided to stay put we liked it so much. Pablo and Sergio, owners of the pool bar/restaurant, definitely put on the best meal we had anywhere. They were great, made us feel welcome and very well cared for. Even gave our family a cooking lesson gratis one afternoon. One big excursion over to Tocolote beach and a boat tour over to the island was super (snorkled with the sea lions, yowza!) but otherwise we were not very ambitious. Got to help release baby turtles in front of the casas and make a few new friends. Sea water was warm, sand was soft, pool water was cool, hot tub was toasty and the Margarhitas were fresh. What more can you ask for? We definitely want to book again and again. To be continued.

“A truly delightful vacation!”

The 2-bdrm condo at Paraiso del Mar (E402) was exactly as portrayed, in pristine condition and tastefully decorated with perfect views of Sea of Cortez, LaPaz, the pool, and landscaped grounds. The unit furnishings, comfy patio furniture, decor, bedding and kitchen accoutrements were perfect. The resort amenities were great and the staff was top notch! Property manager Chelle provided excellent support, and answered many, many questions; she connected us with a driver from the airport with a stop for groceries, and a golf cart to rent. Since most units are owner-occupied, the occupancy was light and the resort was very quiet during our off-peak stay. The pool is huge and clean with a swim-up bar and hot tub. Kayaks and paddle boards are on the sandy beach in front of the condos. Golf clubs are available to rent; although minimally maintained, it is a nice course, reasonably priced, and fun to play. Tennis courts are well-maintained. Yoga is held poolside. The pool bar has incredible food and friendly staff with a regular menu and daily specials; the food is better than you'll find anywhere. We rented a golf cart to get around the resort, or sometimes just bummed a ride with a passer-by, but our unit had a local cell phone for our use and calling transportation for a ride was easy. Taking the shuttle boat to town was always fun and a nice way to meet others. The shuttle drops you off at Marina Cortez on the Malecon in downtown LaPaz. You can walk to many restaurants, nearby marinas, find taxis, rental cars and trips to Espiritu Santo or fishing all within blocks. Groceries are more easily acquired via taxi, but there is always one near the dock; the drivers are kind and helpful and will wait while you get your groceries. Nearest large groceries are Chedraui and Mega. Downtown are two indoor markets with fresh fish, vegetables, tortillas and much more. LaPaz is a safe and friendly city - non-touristy with many longtime resident and boating gringos.

“A wonderful and relaxing stay on the Sea of Cortez”

Both the condo and Paraiso del Mar are beautiful. Chelle was very helpful with planning our trip to make things as smooth as possible. The staff at Paraiso del Mar are wonderful and we felt so relaxed and taken care of the whole visit. La Paz is a great city and day trips to Isla Espíritu Santo are lots of fun. I highly recommend this rental.

“Safe, relaxing, clean and great golf course”

The facilities are top of the line and everyone was very friendly and helpfull. Being on the penninsula gave us comfort and safety with the city being only a 5 minute ferry ride away! Top rated golf course.

“Fantastic!”
