This delightful 200yr old traditional farmhouse, set in the heart of the Poitou Charente, offers you peace and tranquility and provides the perfect chance to get away from it all.

Situated in idyllic open countryside 2km from the centre of Menigoute village and set in 9 acres of established gardens that are surrounded by fields, Montifault enjoys picturesque views across the valley. The abundant wildlife can be seen and heard all around, while wild flowers soak up the sun’s warmth. With night skies devoid of light pollution that can be a star gazer’s paradise.

The quaint village of Menigoute lies in the Poitou Charente, the sunniest region of western France, between Parthenay and St Maixent l'Ecole, and benefits from a pharmacy, doctor, dentist, bar/tabac, hotel, mini-market, bakers, church, bank and garage.

You can stay in The East Wing of the lovely farmhouse.

Many visitors have commented that "... the setting is fantastic - it is quiet & peaceful with no traffic noise & you can actually hear the birds singing."

The resident English owners are on-hand to give you all the help or advice you need to enjoy your stay to the full.

This former tack room and groom accommodation has been sympathetically restored retaining many original features and is set on two floors.

The ground floor has a fully equipped kitchen/dining room (washing machine available in separate laundry room), bath/shower-room and toilet. The lounge is furnished with sofa, easy chairs, TV / DVD player with English satellite TV and hi-fi. Patio doors from the lounge lead to your own patio. This accommodation includes its own garden & the swimming pool.

The open stairs lead to:

• Bedroom 1 has a double bed, chest of drawers & small wardrobe.

• Bedroom 2 has 2/3 single beds. full size wardrobe & chest of drawers.

We have 2 adult bikes available one with kiddy seat & helmets .
