“Great Birthday weekend”

Reviewed 26 Feb 2014

The family and friends met for my son's 30th birthday and it was very comfortable and accommodated everyone no problem. It was a great cabin feel with a slight view of the lake. The snow skiing wasn't what we would have hoped for but the cabin was. Lots of games and laughter had by all.

“Great Stay!”

Reviewed 6 Feb 2014

This place was perfect for a weekend ski trip! only 15 min from Northsar, and a cozy place to return home to with the hot tub and fireplace. The kitchen has everything so cooking dinner was really easy. Couple downsides: 1) we could not regulate the temperature in the bedrooms very well. We only found one thermostat for the whole cabin- so the master bedroom ended up being about 10 degrees warmer than the living room while the guests downstairs were a little chilly. 2) the upstairs master bedroom is right off the kitchen and you can hear everything that goes on. So long as everyone is on the same sleeping schedule, not a problem.

“A great family home to help enhance our vacation!”

We have used Tahoe Getaways for the past several years and have had outstanding service. They are attentive to our needs and do a great job following up throughout the year to make sure our reservation is confirmed and taken care of. We had a family emergency while we were up there and had to extend our stay by a day. Tahoe Getaways took care of it and helped relieve some of our stress. We like this home a lot as it provides ample space for our family and its needs. As our family grows, we will be sad to leave it someday. It is well equipped with anything you could need with the exception of a few items to accommodate a large family. The location is ideal! We love it because it is set up a mountain in a private neighborhood yet close to the lake, stores, casinos and major roads to get in and out of Tahoe. I would highly recommend Beth and her crew at Tahoe Getaways along with the Fawn View home!

“Tahoe Bliss”

Reviewed 15 Aug 2013

I booked this home for my wedding party to stay at together before the big day. The house was absolutely beautiful. We were thrilled with the size of the bedrooms and the bathrooms were excellent and easy to share. We loved the multiple decks to hang out on, and the view of the lake was through the trees but gorgeous. The downside - that sofa bed was unusable. Not only was it in the same room as the pool table, thus making it hard to share the space, but it actually didn't pull out into a bed properly. The guest who was slated to use that ended up sleeping on the floor. So, be warned, 5 bedrooms, yes, extra space to sleep, no. Also, there is only one picnic table on the top deck, and the heater provided looks dangerous. The grill worked great. We used the hot tub, but some guests complained of a "mold" smell. Overall, a very positive experience, we are happy that we found this place!

“Great view with fabulous house amenities”

Reviewed 2 Aug 2013

The openness of first floor is terrific. Kitchen is fully stacked with needed items (pots and pans, silverware, and dishes.) The deck is sufficient with room for tables, chairs, grill and heater. Second deck has hot tub. The yard accommodates games, and children's activities. The benefit of a second refrigerator, and two washers and dryers is a great addition. The location is terrific with beach closeness, market and golf courses having easy access.

The cabin was absolutely beautiful and had all the amenities you could want. It is located 2 miles from a Safeway and the neighbors were very helpful and warm. The only trouble is that it snowed four feet the week we were there and we simply were not prepared for that. We had a hard time getting around in our cars, even with chains on. The plow only plows the street once every 12 hours (if that), so bring a 4-wheel drive vehicle if you can. My only complaint was that the rental company was very unhelpful and unfeeling on move out day. We were supposed to be out of the rental by 10am on our check-out day. My family and I had completely packed up and cleaned the house, but there was a foot of snow on the road and the plow had not yet come by. When I called the rental company and told them about our trouble, their response was "well, you still have to leave somehow". It wasn't until I pressed them and expressed my frustration over having no options (the county plow would not come to our road until 4pm and the private plows were not answering their phones)that she said that we could "probably stay" as long as we didn't get in the way of the cleaners. She showed no sympathy and gave us no other suggestions. Fortunately, we were able to leave around 10:30a due to the kindness of the private plows that clear the driveways of the residents of the neighborhood. But, my final interaction with the rental company left a bad taste in my mouth. However, the rental house was beautiful and we really had a lovely time otherwise!

“Really great house!”

Reviewed 5 Dec 2012

My family and I stayed at Fawn View for five days over the Thanksgiving holiday 2012. The house was warm and comfortable and in a very nice area of Tahoe Vista. There wasn't any snow on the ground, so the play structure for the little ones was helpful! There are two things that need to be addressed, however. The baby gate was not functional, and we had two toddlers with us. There was only one pool cue to use with the pool table, and there was no chalk. Other than that, I would rent this house again!!

“Perfect house for a large family gathering.”

Reviewed 30 Aug 2012

We had a wonderful week in Tahoe with our large extended family gathering for a celebration. The management were very helpful and the home is really ideal for such a gathering. The location is very nice, up a hill amidst the trees with views through the pines of the lake. Quick drives to several nice public beaches and convenient shopping nearby in Kings Beach made this a really fine choice for us. The house is well furnished, though the sofa-bed is poorly designed and requires an air mattress. The one provided did not stay inflated through the night and this was a problem. Noise does carry, so the small children had no problem rousing the whole family early each morning. But these issues were minor in balance with the fantastic deck and living room spaces, the bedrooms and bathrooms which were very comfortable (though basic) and the generally great layout and location of the house. I would definitely recommend this property.

“Relaxing get-away”

Reviewed 21 Aug 2012

Everyone at Tahoe Getaways was very helpful. The home was warm and inviting. Plenty of room for our family of 10. The kids loved the pool table and the hot tub, as did the adults. Our 13-year-old granddaughter loved having her own room with a queen bed, and the three younger kids enjoyed the room with the bunk bed and single. Each couple had a room with a comfy king bed. The master shower had some mildew issues and I mentioned it to Tahoe Getaways. We just thoroughly enjoyed the deck. The kitchen had all the necessities, short of a pizza cutter, but, hey, they had plenty of knives. The ice maker with the refrigerator was not connected, but we just bought crushed ice and put it in the dispenser and it worked fine. The blender was missing the rubber ring, but that was easily purchased. The home is close to activities - golfing, hiking, water sports. Safeway is just about a mile away. It was just a perfect relaxing vacation.

“We had a wonderful stay at this house!”

What a beautiful house; the pictures don't quite compare than being there in person. The house was more than we wished for; really clean and decorated nice. A great layout; plenty of room for our group of 16. The kitchen that is gorgeous opens up to the living room w/ a fire place; really nice. Nice size rooms. Location was in a great neighborhood and friendly people all around; you could walk or ride a bike on the loop where the house is located. I really liked working with the Tahoe Getaways; they made it easy and great to work with. Also other rental places wanted $500-$1000 deposit; but not so with Tahoe Getaways-you had $3000 in renters insurance. The value of this home was well worth the price!! Bummer that the ice maker didn't work and the sofa sleeper was not in a den as desribe; it was in the game room w/ the pool table. Not a big deal; I just thought that it would be in a den w/ more privacy. The house was perfect for us other wise. A great spa and even better; the fire place put out plenty of heat. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful house with our family and loved ones!
