The apartment is perched in Primrose Valley, a seemingly private stretch of Victorian villas that rises above Porthminster Beach to overlook St. Ives harbour and the Atlantic Ocean.
Your rental includes a dedicated parking space and access to the adjacent St. Harbour Hotel Spa for two people through the apartment’s membership. Facilities include: pool with hydro jet, jacuzzi, steam room, dry sauna, gym and sun bathing terrace with loungers. Card can be used by any two guests at a time and offers a 20% discount, food, drinks and treatments at the hotel (for all in the group).
Originally part of a Victorian villa-style hotel, designer Alan McVitty has returned the apartment to its former glory, adding a contemporary twist. With custom furniture and hand-picked feature local pieces (including a massive chandelier from the house of a former mining captain), the interior offers the blend of comfort and style you might expect from the designer behind the interiors of the Queen Mary 2.
Sleeping four, the apartment is well suited to couples, a small group of friends or a family of four who want to enjoy uninterrupted sea views and close proximity to Porthminster Beach and its highly commended Porthminster Café (two minutes on foot).
The Porthminster Beach location is well suited to those who love the buzz of St. Ives but prefer to stay in a tranquil location with sweeping views and outside dining space.

Living area: Lounge: two engulfing wing chairs, sofa, reading lamps, antique chandelier, dark wood floors and light linen rug. High-end surround sound TV system with Netflix 32' Dining area: 4 contemporary black chairs at a table with harbour and ocean views. Kitchen area: Fully equipped with washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, electric cooker, fridge and freezer. Black granite counter tops and stainless appliances.
The Apartment has a dedicated parking space right in front. All bed linen and towels are provided. Just bring beach towels. Electricity, gas, water, parking, wireless internet included in the rental cost.

Both the main door of the apartment and the front bedroom door open onto the terraces with faces north west toward the harbour and St. Ives bay.
On the terrace there are two wall-mounted outside lights, a dining table, four chairs and an outdoor halogen heater. There is a double power socket on the terrace and the wireless internet signal on the terrace is of a good strength. The parking space is right in front of the apartment at the top of Primrose Valley. There is no through traffic.
St. Ives tennis club's ocean-facing tennis courts are located in front and below the apartment and can be booked for a nominal fee on-line (google "St. Ives Tennis Club"). There is a communal court yard garden behind the apartment with a drying line.

“Stylish apartment in great location.”
The perfect apartment for a break in St Ives . Minutes from Porthminster beach and a stroll into the town centre so once you’ve parked you do not need a car. Also complimentary use of the pool and gym at a nearby hotel . 2 very modern bathrooms and comfortable beds .

“Delightful apartment”
Booked this apartment at very short notice, as our main holiday had been cancelled. Booking was easy, and owner was so helpful. Arrived a few days later - short walk from St Ives railway station. Beware, however, the final approach is steep, but worth it upon arrival. The apartment was delightful and the view amazing. The coffee, tea, milk and biscuits were much appreciated. Whilst we could explore, we found the town of St Ives to be lovely, and definitely recommend Portminster Beach Cafe. Our time in St Ives was very relaxing, albeit partly dictated by the national, and indeed global, situation. It was a most comfortable apartment in which to be 'confined'. The owners had thought of pretty much everything we needed there. Hope you enjoy your stay.

Response from the owner TV update: the TV was limited to on-demand for a short period. Since this review, the TV has a full-function YouView box (live TV, on-damand catch-up players) with NETFLIX subscription for guests to enjoy Dolby plus surround sound. Kitchen: the kitchen is indeed compact in terms of work surface but everything is there. It sounds like the wine glasses have been moved to a higher shelf. We'll get those repositioned. There is a little fold-up steps for reaching the top shelves in the kitchen unit where occasional-use items are stored.
