Very Good

“We did not want to leave this beautiful villa”

Reviewed 17 Jun 2014

We've really enjoyed our stay at this villa. Everything was very good and our roomboy Wayan is a real gem! Nothing was too much for him, he's very helpful and makes the best banana pancakes ever! The villa is beautiful decorated, a great compliment for the owners! And of course the washing machine was very nice; because we did not have to bring much clothes, we had plenty of room for beautiful things to bring back home! We had to leave this villa with great sadness, we wished we could stay here forever; it is certainly worth to come back again! Thanks Steve for all of your service (booking, questions and everything else) and of course Wayan for everything what you have done, you are the best, and maybe we will see you all next year! “Our stay at the Villa Palm Kuning was ideal.”

The villa was lovely and provided all of the facilities that we could possibly want. The building itself was spotless and well maintained. We cannot say enough about the young man Wayan who cooked and cleaned for us. Even on the final day when we were leaving early he came to see us off to make sure that everything was OK and waited with us until our van arrived. We woulrd also like to thank Steve Castley who made the arrangements for us. This is the fourth time we have rented a villa through him and we have never been disappointed.

“Awesome Spot”

Spent 10 days in this villa at the end of November/beginning of December and it was a great! Having used PUV before I knew we would not be disappointed, and we werent. Villa was beautiful with everything we could need. Pool was great, although the weather meant we didnt use it as much as we probably would have. Our houseboy was awesome and nothing was ever too much trouble. Location was great, Penestanan is a fantastic village to stay in. We spent most of our time relaxing in the villa and around the village. Couldnt fault it! Would happily stay there again and would recommend to anyone.

“Great stay at Villa Palm Kuning.”

First rate from start to finish. Efficient pick up arranged from the airport and we were met at the villa by the wonderfully friendly and helpful Wayan. The villa is fresh clean and modern with everything you could need. Wayan comes each morning to sort breakfast etc at a time convenient to you. The location is great, out of central Ubud but a short stroll or cheap taxi ride away. There is a fun bar at the top of the street - Round Bar, and a few good restaurants nearby - Bayus Kitchen and Yellow Flower Cafe were excellent. Also, try Eve Spa in the vicinity, a godsend after a 17 hr flight!

My daughter, grand daughter and sister-in-law luxuriated in this slice of heaven, The only problem was we didn't stay long enough. Absolutely hassle free booking, and visit. It is set up beautifully in a lovely Balinese style, the beds are really comfortable and breakfast was wild. Cannot say enough good things about this villa except it's a paradise to good not to share.

“Quiet peacefulplace”

We-a family with 2 kids ( 17,14 ) enjoyed the 3 nights in the villa. After a day in the busy and noisy Ubud it is a pefect retreat. We walked to Ubud once (20 minutes) but for the rest we always took taxis, which were cheap and easy to get. Especially by night I would not recommend to walk home from Ubud, but it is 5 minutes by taxi. Having a swim in the pool and admiring the starry sky in the night was a perfect end of a busy day. The rooms are large, nice furnished and the two bathrooms are perfectly wonderful. The kitchen is very well equipped. The two Wayans were very helpful and friendly. We can recommend a walk through the gorges and ricefields starting directly from the house. We already recommended the villa to a family that we met during our trip through Bali.

“Paradise found”

Reviewed 31 Jul 2013

Villa palm kuning has everything you need for a relaxing holiday.. The villa is extremely comfortable and I loved the big bathrooms and rain shower. The a/c is also an added benefit but most of the time the weather in Ubud is comfortable enough to use the fans. Wayan, the houseboy was great and made our breakfast when it suited us - fresh fruit salad and Whatever u wanted. And the breakfast is in included in the price! He kept the villa spotless and was not intrusive. He will help with anything you need. The pool is clean and looks romantic lit up at night.. I go to Bali a lot and would not stay anywhere else now and I've stayed in a lot of places in Bali and this beats the lot. It is also incredible value for what u get. Thanks to steve for his excellent service which was quick and efficient from the moment of my enquiry. He is also an excellent artist - check out his art studio. We went to Eve's spa nearby several times and it was heaven. There are also several excellent restaurants close by including bayus kitchen which has live music during the week.. for those interested there is a yoga centre close too. it took us about 15 minutes to walk to monkey forest road in Ubud but we did stop to admire shops on the way.. Taxis are cheap if u prefer.. We had a great lunch at cafe wayan in monkey forest road and would recommend it even if it is a bit more expensive than other places and the ambience is great! Can't wait to return and do it all again.

“Just Relax at Villa Palm Kuning”

Reviewed 29 Jul 2013

Villa Palm Kuning is part of the Private Ubud Villa's group. You can expect excellence in all of their villas. We have stayed in 3 of them and VPK is up to the usual high standard: Great open plan; 2 bedrooms with ensuites; fully equipped kitchen; Wireless internet; Dvds; Books and a beautiful tropical garden. Wayan, your house boy, cooks you a great breakfast each morning. Ask him to do a banana pancake! He then cleans the villa both inside and out as well as making your beds (Oh! the luxury). If you need to have any laundry done there is a service in the lane way and she only charges a very small amount for washing and ironing. There is also a warang (cafe) just near the villa. A very short walk up the lane brings you to transport services ((AUD$4) into Ubud. Also you will discover Bayou's Kitchen just across the road. Their food is very well priced and tasty - try their satays for a start- yum! You really can't go wrong when you book onto a Private Ubud Villa- you get picked up from the airport and dropped off again and the time in between is just absolutely fantastic. We will be back again and again. So book early and don't miss out. These villas are becoming very popular.

“Beautiful hideaway”

Reviewed 29 Jul 2013

Fantastic place to stay , not far from beautiful cafes and central Ubud was a ten minute walk. Could not believe that this villa and others were down such a little walkway. Would of loved maybe a hot breakfast, even if the supplies where there and we cooked it ourselves. But on saying that there were plenty of lovely fresh fruit and toast , plenty of great places to eat just a short walk away. Very well stocked villa, cleaned daily, the staff were amazing. Definitely stay here again, wonderful.

“Beautiful Villa, Fantastic service”

Reviewed 25 Jul 2013

We loved this Villa, it was the nicest one out of our 3 villas we stayed in whilst in Bali. The young man who cooked our breakfast each morning and couldn't help enough with everything, he was an absolute delight! The Villa itself is absolutely gorgeous! The location was great for us as we had bikes, its not walking distance to Ubud centre but close enough for a taxi ride. There is local restaurants walking distance however. Unfortunately the noise of dogs constantly barking all night long was the only down fall, other than that we could not fault it!

Response from the manager Thanks for this great review and we are working with owners to move their dogs away from this area. The owners nearby are being very helpful, and we hope that barking dogs will be a rarity.
