Description

The house is a three bed holiday home. It was built around 1990 and has everything you will need to enjoy your stay with central heating, a well equipped kitchen, bath/shower (there is a second, separate wc) as well as satellite TV, a multi region DVD. and free wifi.

There are three bedrooms, one double and two twins. It has wonderful views over the bay and lovely walks. A car is necessary to get there and provide access to shops but the the small village of Lecanvey, which includes the landmark traditional pub, Staunton's, is around 200 metres away. The house is located on the foot of Ireland's most famous mountain, Croagh Patrick, eight miles outside the picturesque town of Westport, Co Mayo.

It overlooks beautiful Clew Bay and is within a short walk (300 metres) of the sea and a small harbour. It is at the midway point on the road between Westport and Louisburgh and provides easy access (by car) to some of Ireland's most wonderful scenery and beaches. It is a perfect base for walking, cycling or hiking holidays while golf, surfing, sailing and other water sports are all available locally. Westport, voted the best place to live in Ireland in 2014 by readers of the Irish Times, boasts many restaurants and bars with many of the latter featuring live traditional music. Westport House operates a family park with many facilities for children while horse riding and many other activities are also available at multiple locations. Climbing Croagh Patrick, is hugely popular with visitors as is exploring up and down Ireland's wonderful west coast towards Sligo in the north and Galway's Connemara to the south. Along the way, towards the latter you can take in the towns where the films, the Field and Quiet Man were shot.

Getting around

the house overlooks the Westport to Louisburgh stretch of the Wild Atlantic Way and both towns are an easy drive away.

“Super location, well equipped and very helpful owner”

Super house in nice location and well appointed. The owner was very affable and there to help when needed. However, the exit onto the road is extremely dangerous by car or on foot.

How do damage deposits work?

If Emmet (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
