“Exquisitely decorated house inside and out. Phenomenal views an”

Reviewed 22 Dec 2013

Set in an authentic, historic French village and nearby villages that offer delicious fine dining options. A fabulous holiday, an adventure to be remembered.

“Absolutely wonderful!”

Reviewed 8 May 2011

The house is well kept and clean and very comfortable. We (3 couples) were there during the first hot spell of the summer and thoroughly enjoyed the pool and eating every meal outside, overlooking the beautiful valley! We loved the area- beautiful and quiet, yet close enough to drive to nearby villages. The owners had left very detailed information sheets, which helped immensely to plan some daily excursions, go to the market or just sit out by the pool and enjoy! We willl visit again!

“A lovely house in the beautiful Languedoc-Roussillon”

Reviewed 11 Apr 2011

So much to see and do. We enjoyed attending a Feria in azille, watching the parade, village celebrations and the bull fight. There are wonderful small villages in the vicinity, bicycles available for rent and great roads for bicycle riding. Good hiking spots nearby. Lots of superb restaurants. Not too far away from Carcassone, Narbonne and Collioure. One of our favorite small towns was Minerve, about 20 minutes from Beaufort. We loved our stay in this lovely home - a wonderful place to be with our friends.

“A summer to remember”

Reviewed 11 Apr 2011

My "wow" test for a holiday is how long after I have returned home do the memories last. When doing the math, 4 years have past - I can't believe it. I can still recall times playing in the pool, trips to the bakery for fresh bread in the morning, great meals both at home and in the countryside and ending the day by the pool at night with a glass of wine or two or... We still talk about our summer in France and can't wait to get back again.

“Absolutely perfect!”

We had a wonderful week at Maison Beaufort. The house is gorgeous and has everything you could possibly need. There were four of us, but the place could very comfortably hold 6. The location was perfect. A lovely village close to beautiful towns, markets and the Canal du Midi. Everything about the week was perfect.

“Epic Vacation”

Reviewed 4 Apr 2011

Charmant! Simplement Charmant! Six of us slept very comfortably in this beautiful home that has lots of space inside and out and even for parking. It is a beautiful location to either stay there and relax or to drive to neighbouring villages. The area is rich in history, food, wine and welcoming people. None of us spoke French but with our translation book everyone we met went out of their way to assist. The instructions, information and guide suggestions provided with the rental added great value to our trip. It made getting around quite easy and had great tourist suggestions we hadn't seen elsewhere. It was definitely an epic vacation for all of us.

“unique, tranquil retreat.”

Maison Beaufort was a perfect place for our family to reconnect. Most days were spent having a leisurely breakfast and then off to a local market. The location was ideal for many day excursions. Eating under the stars in the evening beside the pool with fresh bread & wine was a lasting memory. The home forced us to slow down and enjoy life!

“A Wonderful Experience in Southern France”

Reviewed 1 Apr 2011

We spent one week in august at Maison Beaufort with two other couples. It is a beautifully renovated 2-storey home that still has its 19th Century original charm. The home is private and quiet with breathtaking views of the countryside from the upstairs bedrooms. Most of our shopping was done in the village of Olonzac, a 5-minute car ride from Beaufort. The weekly markets in southern France are wonderful. The closest is in Olonzac, and the largest is in Narbonne. We picked up fresh fruits and vegetables, local cheeses, meats, and local wine and prepared most of our dinners in the wonderful well-equipped kitchen. The kitchen will accommodate more than one cook and it has a large harvest table where everyone can gather for dinner. We also spent a great deal of time in the beautiful garden and around the pool. If you don't want to cook, you can enjoy the local charming restaurant L'Auberge de Saint Martin. It is a real treat, and you can walk home. We enjoyed every minute of our time at Maison Beaufort and hope to do it again.

“This should be your home base when in Languedoc.”

We stayed at this beautiful house in June. We flew in to Toulouse and took our rental car to Olonzac. We found the place relatively easily. Our only issue was after being up all night on an overseas flight we had to wait for the house to be ready. 1 caveat: Buy everything in town to prepare your meals as there was almost nothing in the cupboards but once set up you are good to go. The major highway was very close, making it easy to drive to many historic sites. I would highly recommend Nimes and Pont du Gard- you could spend a day there - loved it. We went on a local wine tour and the market was fun. There was certainly lots to do and see. Make sure you make reservations at the local restaurant - it was a magical evening for us and we could walk home!! From here we took the train to Barcelona but if I were to do it again I'd take a flight - a lot less hassle.

“An amazing home and property”

This was my second experience staying at Maison Beaufort and both were wonderful. The house is just lovely, totally renovated in a small French village with a wonderful rose garden, pool and fabulous views from every window and garden. There are lovely small towns to explore with lots of history (Carcassone for one) and great markets to buy your produce for a wonderful dinner at home. We were out all day and came home for cocktails by the pool in the afternoon and dinner in the garden. There is a lovely restaurant in the village with wonderful French food. I would recommend this location to couples or a group of women. Please enjoy your experience at Maison Beaufort in a quiet French village in a lovely part of France.
