“I will book my Mazatlan visit HERE every time”

Reviewed 30 Dec 2016

Hello This was the REAL Mazatlan! Home is amazing and bigger then the photos Clean Right in the heart of real Mazatlan, but 1 block from the Ocean.

Response from the owner and Always welcome at Casa Bonita

“Fabulous!”

Reviewed 19 Mar 2014

We stayed at Chris's place for 9 days and had a wonderful time in Old Mazatlan. Great character both of the house and the owner. Location is perfect, rooms are terrific, kitchen is great and pool is fantastic at 84 f. Only one block to Olas altas beach, and close to all restaurants in old town. Also, only a short ferry ride to Isla de la Piedra, which has a terrific 22 km long beach, with very few people on it. In all of our many travels to Mexico, this has to be one of the very best guesthouses you will find. Well maintained and very clean, nice comfy beds and bathrooms. Also has a central tv area, as well as satellite radio. It doesn't get any better than this! Ken and Karen Reid Quesnel, BC, Canada

“By far,"The best place to stay in Mazatlan"!”

The Casa Bonita offers everything a person could want to have an awesome time in Mazatlan. You can enjoy Old Mazatlan while experiencing all the amenities of a modern hotel. The location is close to everything. Walking distance to many great restaurants, Plaza, the market, stores, & the awesome beach which is only a block away. No vendors there hounding you to buy things from them as it is in the Gold Zone Resort area. The property is extremely well maintained & has everything you need. All the rooms were perfect. The kitchen Had everything you need, the décor had many historical pictures & the furnishings had old world charm. After a day of exploring, you can come back to an awesome private pool & take a dip while staring up at palm tree's & a great garden-like setting which is all open air to the entire living area. The wife & I took a drive up to the resort area of Mazatlan to check out the beaches & big resorts. It was chaotic at best. It was noisy, crowded, & we were hounded by vendors every ten steps that we took! We took the fastest cab back to Casa Bonita & Old Town & enjoyed the rest of our stay! We just returned home & are already talking about returning as soon as we can. We have to truly thank the owner Chris for making us feel at home while we were there & for showing all the great places to eat & visit. Thanks again for a truly great experience! Bill & Heidi

“The best family vacation yet!”

We fell in love with Casa Bonita the first time we entered! Maritza had some flowers, coffee, pop, beer and fruit for us upon arrival. She was so nice and accommodating and always was there if we had a question or needed assistance- yet we never saw her unless we needed to! The Pool was nice and refreshing morning, noon, and night! The rooms were perfect and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook with. We loved going across the street to the little store for breakfast, we would bring it back and eat poolside for approx.$12 us for a family of 6! The location was perfect being so close to Olas altas- where we all loved the waves everyday! We would walk to Plaza Machado (approx.10 mins with 4 kids) and to the market( 15 mins) for fresh veges, fruit, etc. We loved all the restaurant's nearby and found Centro very safe day and night from Plaza Machado. We spent 10 days but truly wished we had more time at Casa Bonita. We cannot wait to go back!

“Best Vacation ever!”

Casa Bonita truly lived up to its name! Maritza made us feel at home from the very moment we set foot in Casa Bonita. She showed us around and even had picked up some coffee, fruit, pop, and beer to get us going! The rooms were immaculate, the pool was perfect, and the house was so clean and inviting. Our 4 children loved the fact that there was free wifi as well! We all loved the pool and were in it morning, noon, and night! Our cleaning lady was fantastic and so nice- please tip her accordingly because she is fantastic! Our first breakfast was from the little store across from the house, it was great and fed a family of 6 for about $15 Cdn! We tried to have breakfast there as much as we could! We couldn't have asked for a better location either, we were so close to Plaza Machado, the market, and so many great restaurants and vendors. We felt so safe walking through Centro and the market day and night, such beautiful architecture and even better people! Olas altas was our favorite beach to go and play in the waves, and was only a couple minutes walk away! We all loved Mazatlan and look so forward to going back to Casa Bonita and seeing Maritza again! I will post pics soon since it doesn't seem to be uploading right now!

“Fantastic Stay in Old Town Mazatlan”

Reviewed 14 May 2013

We spent a week at Casa Bonita and wish we could have stayed longer. The place was charming with private bedrooms and baths attached to most rooms. We traveled with three other couples and everyone felt they had their privacy--which is important to our group. The place is clean, tastefully decorated and homey. The housekeeper was there several times and tidied up, took out the garbage, etc. This property is within walking distance to the beach, awesome restaurants, and the plaza. The local people were friendly and we felt incredibly safe. We arrived during the last days of Carnival in February. What a surprise to learn that the parade would come right by our front gates. Tons of photographs were snapped that night! Our hosts were friendly and helpful. There was internet which was important to us for a variety of reasons, i.e. check on family back home, snippets of work, check emails, etc. One day we visited Stone Island, another day we hiked to the top of the hill with the lighthouse. We walked to the Golden Zone (a lengthy hike). Sometimes we took the taxis or the pulmonias (spelling?)--all very reasonably priced. We sat around the pool and drank, told stories, played cribbage and even took a dip in the chilly pool. (Coming later in the season might result in a warmer pool). At the Mega Super Store, we did buy items to eat for breakfast and a few lunches, but later wondered why? Especially since the local fare was incredible and reasonably priced. We walked many places during the day and at night and never felt threatened or concern. We definitely plan to go back. But there is no way we will only stay one week. We'll extend our vacation to at least two, but wish we could stay a month. Thanks Chris and Maritza!

“I'm Home!”

Reviewed 30 Mar 2013

I'm Home, says it all. From the moment I stepped into Casa Bonita, I felt at home. Chris welcomed us with the warmest of welcomes and his continued attention to details, even the smallest, made our stay one of such fun. Casa Bonita is such a warm and beautiful home away from home, one that had everything that I needed and because of its location, I could walk to where I wanted to go. This location afforded us a walk to the newest and nicest of restaurants, to a square that takes one back in history, to the downtown shopping district that has something for everyone. There was even a beautiful old cathdral and square. There were so many things I liked, one that comes to view is the kitchen, the kitchen facility had everything you needed, so if you wanted to spend some time just doing nothing and enjoying playing games at home, rustle up some 'goodies' and enjoy. There's enough room for all.

Response from the owner We are happy you had a great Time in Mazatlan, Hope you come back again and Stay at Casa Bonita, return guest always get the best deals.

Wonderful ambiance, comfortable room, helpful and engaging staff. Owner assisted when out city tour cancelled and found us a cab to take us on a two hour personal excursion. Would definitely stay there again. Wife would like to see a hair dryer in the bathroom. Doesn't bother husband so much.

“We had a fabulous stay at Casa Bonita”

Reviewed 12 Feb 2013

We arrived at the airport with Chris the owner and his darling little daughter Judy. They were waiting for us with ice cold beverages and a big smile. They drove us to Casa Bonita which is about twenty minutes from the airport. We pulled up to a charming historical place which is full of history. They showed us to our rooms and gave us a tour of the wonderful place. Maritza who is Chris's wife had some homemade Mexican food waiting for us. Yummy beans with peppers and chorizo and other great snacks. The place has a nice pool, kitchen and everything else you could want. This is the second time I've stayed there but it was my husbands first. I love old Mazatlan. Chris and Judy showed us all their favorite places to go and eat. It's a real treat to stay at Casa Bonita. I'm planning on bringing my whole family back soon. Thanks for everything!
