“Amazing Greek Island experience”
We rented both the Santorini Paradise and Helios houses for eleven people. They were absolutely wonderful. The views are spectacular. The houses were clean to start with and cleaned every day. Helios had just recently been updated and looked great. We were welcomed with fresh fruit, eggs, water, wine and snacks. Maria was so helpful and attentive and spent time with each group giving suggestions on things to do and places to go. The sunset view from the rooftop patio of the Helios house is out of this world. Maria brought us drinks and appetizers the first night to watch it. There we hundreds of people around us watching and we had the best seats. Maria asked for constructive feedback from us, which we had very little to give. I appreciate an owner always trying to improve the experience of her guests. It says a lot about Maria's commitment to her guests. We highly recommend Maria and any of her places.
“Living in a cloud”
How can I express the wonderful feeling I had when I arrived to the home. We were received by Maria who has a heart of gold. She delivered and gave beyond what she had. We sat perched on the edge of a cliff overlooking the island and Fira dripping from the edge in white. As Maria went through all the best the island had to offer. The home was clean and beautifully decorated. It was a home that made you feel not only on vacation but also embodied the culture and style of Greece. You felt loved and at peace. You can be in that home to relax but in my case, I was surprising my parents with renewal of their vows so I was in close contact with Maria. I honestly did not expect the help she offered, and it was a lot. Making several calls and running around helping us with the details of a wedding. The catering, the flowers, the space. It was a full job for her. She seemed to do it all. Every morning our space was clean and we had fresh towels. If there was a request she was a phone call away. We had hotel amenities. Which is rare for a home rental to have. Over all - A spectacular home, amazing Service, Memorable time. We would go back again and can't wait to see Maria, this time to spend time with-- We highly recommend you go visit the black beach. If you have a concern ask Maria she is a wealth of knowledge. Do rent a car its easy to park and cheap to rent if you plan to check out the j
“Perfect location, fabulous view, total comfort”
Greek Paradise is in the perfect location. Just a few steps up to Oia's shops, restaurants and art galleries. Just one step out my door was a 180 degree panoramic view of the volcano and caldera and then just blue skies and sea. The house had all the amenities I need including a safe. It was decorated with traditional cave house furniture. Add Marie's art work and you have a unique blend of simple island living, in total comfort, with a touch of art to enjoy. The artistically tiled bathroom is a beautiful example of Maria's hand in adding a truly unique feature to the house. Maria was a gracious hostess, sharing her knowledge and suggestions to get a real taste of the islands history, culture, food and beautiful beaches. She made my stay here special and welcoming.
“Wonderful home, beautiful and serene”
We had an amazing honeymoon at the Greek Paradise! It is a lovely and very welcoming home with breathtaking views and is within very short walking distance to anything you could possibly need in the village of Oia. Maria is such a great host and helped us plan our stay and informed us of all the "must sees." If you are thinking of vacationing on Santorini, Oia is where you must stay, specifically at the Greek Paradise! It truly was a magical trip that opened our eyes to many things and we hope that someday not far away we will be able to return! Thank you so much for your hospitality and warm welcome! You made us feel like family and we really enjoyed getting to know you. I hope someday to meet again! If you ever plan a trip to the United States, be sure to let us know! Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts!-Chuck and Laura
“Greek Paradise -Perfect cave house experience”
My stay at Greek Paradise was perfection. The cave home offered everything I was looking for on this trip. The view is so beautiful it seems unreal, like someone could roll it up and take it away but it's there every morning when the sun greets you, in the afternoon when the water turns to liquid silver and in the evening when you can watch the nightly performance of the setting sun from your private terrace, perhaps in the hot tub. From the traditional styled furnishings that compliment the house to the artistically tiled bathroom that offers a bit of whimsy, this was the perfect place to spend my vacation. The locations is minutes from the shops and restaurants but still offers peace and quiet. Maria was a wonderful hostess. She provided suggestions for everything from restaurants to beaches. At her suggestion I went to Eros Beach and swam in the sea as the sun set, or as she explained "as the sun joins you in the sea." The reflection of the sun off the surrounding sand walls turned the water in to the most beautiful copper color. It was an amazing experience. I highly recommend it. Also, the Theros Beach Bar there is very unique, with unusual outdoor furniture on the terrace and umbrellas and beach beds on the beach. The trips to akritri and Thira ruins are not to be missed. The hike to Thira was worth the walk. The view was brilliant. I thoroughly enjoyed the walking I did on the island. I didn't consider it exercise. It was about getting to a destination. A destination that was breathtaking no matter where I went on the island. I would recommend Greek Paradise to anyone that is interested in experiencing true Greek hospitality (Thank you, Maria), a view that will remain in your minds eye for years to come and the opportunity to live in a traditional cave home. It was everything I imagined and more. I will be back.
“Relaxing afternoons, tasty evenings”
We stayed at Maria's place in the beginning of October, we enjoyed sitting inside the house with the doors open whilst staring at the sea. This mood was complimented by some soft music and something similar to port, which incidentally was waiting for us on the table when we arrived. we later procured some of the golden Santorini cognac wine sold locally in unmarked bottles. The apartment was comfy, and the kitchenette and table layout was ideal for setting breakfast on the table and then just opening the doors to the beautiful sea. The bed is comfy and situated at the back. We slept in and draped one of the covers over the bed to darken the room. Sitting outside was nice too, but inside seemed like a viewing a Matisse painting through the beautiful doors and framed ocean view. Nights are nice to sit outside. Floga restaurant was easy stroll away and had great appetizers. The house is right below and off the Main Street located amongst a little cluster of houses perched on the hill. But isolated visually so privacy was not an issue. Maria is very accommodating I host and we met for dinner with her the last evening. Really felt the experience was totally better because she showed true Greek hospitality which is of course is part of this ancient culture that has given our world so many things we treasure.
“The ultimate getaway!”
This Greek cave house has a breath-taking view, unrivaled sunsets and Oia, was the perfect place to experience Greek hospitality and an amazing holiday. My friends and I stayed at 'Santorini Paradise' for approximately one week and would certainly recommend it. Maria is a fabulous host too!
A timeless journey living in a Cave House! Staying in the over-one-thousand year old cave house, I felt like traveling on the open wings of time, realizing that life has perpetual continuity, no matter what happens. Looking at the horizon you see the endless creation, especially at night with thousands of stars. Maria's Villa, with aesthetic perfection, as she is an artist, offers relief of the soul. The Greek Paradise Cave has a pretty, neat double bed in the bedroom and two twin beds in the main room. It has an artistic bathroom with beautiful seaviews and a little yard with flowers. There is a comfortable bench to sit on the terrace and enjoy the beautiful views day and night! The hosting is with courtesy and respect. A rich breakfast is brought to the house every morning. A Sunday night party with drinks and traditional Greek food, is held on the roof of Maria's reception, close to the sunset point, just above the road that tourists use to gather to shoot the setting sun. There is no need to have the luxury of a modern hotel complex in a cave house! When someone visits a "Prehistoric Pompeii" as is Santorini, he should contemplate that, centuries ago, people had to adjust their life to the rocks. They used stones, mountains, seas and everything else they could, for the continuity of life after the total devastation caused by the eruption of the volcano. It is remarkable that people made this burnt land live again, full of beauty and creation! The charm of this Greek paradise is at this value, which is over time and place: the power of man to be reborn from his ashes! My stay in the cave house was a triggering point. I would give it the thoughtful title of "Journey of self-knowledge". I thank you, Maria, for the culture and aesthetics that you provide to your guests! And that I have had the chance to experience it! Kostas Synodinos.
“absolutely wonderful and amazing vacation--felt like local Oians”
Our favorite time during our vacation was spent at Maria's cave house in Oia. The view was unbelievable, the house was better than it looked in the photos---comfortable and beautiful. Sitting on the terrace overlooking the caldera is something I will never forget. Maria is one of the most friendly and helpful people we have ever met. She made us feel at home, came to the house to give us suggestions for places to eat and her favorite beaches for swimming. But, even more amazing, she invited our family to share an evening with her and with other friends before we left--even trying to teach us to dance! We were communicating in three different languages, but somehow we all understood each other, and felt like good friends by the end of the evening. We had come (with our children, ages 13 and 20) to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, and hope to get back again very soon, while our legs can still handle the winding steep steps in Oia. We felt like locals, rather than tourists, during our stay at Maria's cave house. One of our favorite vacations ever!
