This beautiful Cave House is a real "Love Nest", unique & idyllic. Every single hour of the day & night is magnificent from the romantic veranda of the little villa! The panoramic views from the patio are breathtaking! Enjoy lying on the mattress on the bench in the evening viewing the lights of the cities on the top edge of the Caldera and gazing at the sparkling stars and moon in the dark sky. The blue dome church of Saint Nicolas and the amazing sunset view is just a couple of minutes walk from PARADISE cave house.
Escape to Greek paradise in this beautiful vacation house, about 50 m2 in size, built into the ancient volcanic rock on the world famous island of Santorini. Situated in the village of Oia, this house is the ideal accommodation for an enjoyable vacation of tranquility and recreation. The sculpted rock architecture of this lovely house is unique and impressive, and it has been beautifully decorated with inspiration and care by its owner, Maria Economou, a Greek sculptor and painter. The villa is 30 steps away from the main road and 2 min walking distance from shops, restaurants, galleries, bus & taxi terminal. It is 5 min walk from the Café Bar Swimming Pool and 7 min drive from the sea. The villa has a master bedroom and a living room with a double bed and one single bed. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a private shower-room and a veranda with panoramic view to the Caldera. The villa has a washer.
The owner, Maria Oikonomou: "The cave villa was constructed about 1000 years ago in the traditional manner of the people of Santorini at this time. They were dug into the volcanic rock so as to be cool in the summer and warm in the winter. I have artistically decorated it and also updated the villa to protect against humidity. I welcome you to my villa and the beautiful island of Santorini".
Details like the mosaic tile in the bathroom and the beautifully painted walls make this house an incredible place to stay on the picturesque island of Santorini. The house, located on the cliff side of the Caldera, provides modern amenities along with traditional charm. It combines the traditional construction techniques with all the advantages of modern restoration and moisture protection. The original structure of the house has been preserved with respect. Modern facilities have been added to satisfy guests' needs and aesthetics. The private terrace gives a breathtaking panoramic view of the Volcano, the surrounding islands, the traditional hillside settlement of Oia village and the deep blue Aegean sea, while providing a perfect place to dine, or simply relax and take in the beauty.
Your "Cave winery" in the depths of PARADISE cave house!
In our efforts to provide our guests with a truly one-of–a-kind island experience, a special space has recently been created deep in the interior of Greek Paradise cave house to provide our guests with a unique, cozy area to relax! This inner "nest" fits up to 4 people.
This second cave is in the depths of the house, off the bedroom. It is 2 meters under the level of the house allowing for comfortable temperatures throughout the seasons. Its round shape and its location deep down in the heart of the volcanic land will heighten your sense of calming contentment and fulfillment!
We have designed this space in the style of an old, traditional Greek tavern! After a day of exploring the island, lounge on the cushions & pillows and sip local wine to re-energize yourself! The wine, presented in an oak barrel, is homemade by an old islander from his grape vineyards in Oia. The wine is made and offered to you with love! Candles and a selection of music are also available to complement this romantic setting. We hope the cozy ambiance will add to your cave dwelling experience. Just enjoy!!!
The house is located in a quiet neighborhood just 100 meters from the center of the village and only 50 meters from the sunset viewing point, this delightful home is the perfect place for a romantic vacation.
The Villa has a washer machine. If you are interested in using the machine please let us know to inform the caretaker. You can use it once for free.
There is TV, Wi fi and telephone in the house (You can receive phone calls or call only in Santorini for free). In the little cupboard there are some pharmacy aids.
Checking in time is at 15:00 at the earliest and checking out time is 11:00 at the latest.
The rate includes taxes and
1) A welcome assortment of bottled mineral water, wine and juice upon arrival.
2) Breakfast provisions: honey, butter, marmalade, milk, fruits, eggs, wheat bread, cereals, 3 kinds of coffee and tea, cocktail of herbs.
3) Daily maid service, change sheet, bath and beach towels every three days.
4) Private outdoor hot tub facing the Caldera (up to 37 Celsius)!
5) Satellite TV, Wi-Fi and Air Conditioning.
6) The cave house is 2-3 minute walk from the Pool Bar Lyogerma. It is open all day long (May-Oct). It has the best view to the Sunset!
7) By showing our card, you have discounts or free deserts to many restaurants in Oia and other towns in Santorini! For example a) You will be offered a free desert with your meal at the most picturesque restaurant of Santorini AMMOUDI restaurant in the port of Ammoudi!
You can take a boat trip around the volcano, explore an archaeological excavation of a 3000 year-old civilization, or perhaps visit some cultural museums. You can tour ancient Byzantine churches and charming wineries, or go trekking along the rim of the caldera and discover its traditional villages and stunning scenery. You can also ride on a donkey to the old port where you can go on an excursion to the volcano and swim in its hot springs. There is so much to do and this is the ideal place to enjoy doing it.
